According to a post on The Offspring‘s Facebook page, record producer, engineer and mixer Bryan Carlstrom is dead. His cause of death is currently unknown, but here’s what The Offspring had to say about him:
“R.I.P. Bryan Carlstrom..Godspeed..As the engineer on Ixnay and Americana he brought out the best in us..-Dexter”
Carlstrom engineered two of The Offspring’s platinum records Ixnay on the Hombre and Americana (released in 1997 and 1998 respectively) and Social Distortion‘s 1992 gold record Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell. He has also worked with Billy Idol, Queen, Kiss, The Cult, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Sacred Reich, Megadeth, D.R.I., Slayer, Spinal Tap, White Zombie, Corrosion of Conformity, Filter, Stabbing Westward and Public Image Limited. For the rest of his working credits, see here.
We’ll keep you posted as soon as any further details surface, or if any benefits are in the works. Rest in peace, Bryan, and thank you for all your hard work, especially delivering some awesome music.
That’s unfortunate.

Wow, those listed are some of my favorite records.
Not just the songs but the production was top notch.
A true loss.
