OFF! announce new documentary

California punks OFF! have announced that they are working on a new documentary called Watermelon: A Sci-Fi Punk Rockumentary. The trailer for the upcoming film, shows just how dysfunctional the band has become, and how getting old and touring can take a toll on both the music and the band. The official description of the film reads: “The movie, which began shooting in 2016, continues in Los Angeles five heartbreaking years after OFF! have disbanded. Keith’s hopes of landing the girl of his dreams are crushed when diabetes-induced erectile dysfunction threatens his last chance at romance. An infomercial promising powerful long-lasting erections lures Keith down a strange path to an eccentric doctor running a Brain Development Agency.”

Check out the trailer for the new film here.

OFF! have also announced that a coinciding album will be released with the documentary. The bands last release was Wasted Years back in 2014. With punk rock veterans Jello Biafra, Henry Rollins, Buzz Osborne and Joe Keithly all appearing in the film, at the very least it promises to be entertaining.

OFF! premieres gory cinematic music video for “Over Our Heads” starring Jack Black

I have no idea how much money this cost or what kind of personal connections the dudes in OFF! have but the band has just premiered a very cinematic movie video for their song “Over Our Heads” and it features very heavily the one and only Jack Black.  He stars as a deranged skydiving coach who takes the guys on an excursion in honor of Keith Morris’s 59th birthday. Things get really gory and weird and the script is full of all sorts of subtle and not so subtle references to the lineup’s past.  It’s actually pretty entertaining, and definitely worth a watch.

Check it out below.

Part two (“Meet Your God”) is apparently coming next week.

“Over Our Heads” is featured on OFF’s most recent album Wasted Years which was released on April 8th through Vice Records.

OFF! releases new music video for “Red White and Black”

Hardcore punks OFF! have just posted a new music video for their song “Red White and Black” and I love it. Any video that shows ‘nazis’ getting what’s due to them is a great video in my book.

Dave Foley (from Kids In The Hall) and Briam Posehn (from Mr. Show) play the racists and performers of the song, while the band members take the roles of bartenders and MC.

Cool video for a great song. Give it a little watch below.

“Red White and Black” appears on the band’s latest album, “Wasted Years”, which was released last week through Vice Records.
