Daylight stream new song “In On It” off upcoming album “Jar”

Pennsylvania punks Daylight have released a new song entitled “In On It,” which will be appearing on their upcoming album “Jar.” Click here to check it out. Here’s what the band’s frontman Jake Clarke had to say about the song:

“I wrote ‘In on It’ late one night in my basement. Up until now, typical Daylight songs have been screaming vocals and harmonies, but this song and this record are a little different from other music we have released. There’s still a Daylight vibe, still sad and dark, but different. Our producer and good friend, Will Yip, helped with the formation of this track. We went clean on the verses, fuzzed-out on the choruses and added better harmonies. The song came together so well, I am really proud of where it ended up.”

“Jar” is set to be released on April 30th via Run For Cover Records. We’ll keep you posted as more details on the record surface.

Daylight stream entire new EP, “The Difference In Good and Bad Dreams”; heading out on tour to promote release

In celebration of the release of this new material, the band has put the entire EP up on Run For Cover’s Bandcamp page, available to stream.

Check them out here.

Here’s what Run For Cover had to say about the new EP,

Twinkling leads and Cobain-esque vocal dynamics add space and dimension atop of walls of grungy gained-out guitars. The tempo of the music harkens to brooding, patient mid-90s post-hardcore a la Fugazi or Quicksand, lending to a desperate undercurrent running beneath the songs. The thick rhythm section and spacious, huge drum parts are perfectly written to support some of the bands catchiest and biggest vocal hooks to date. Daylight’s signature unrelenting lyrical depression continues yet with a more melodic and dynamic vocal approach, complimenting the band’s musical progression.”

Daylight has some shows scheduled in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York to promote their new record, as well as a month-long European tour planned for this spring. Check out all the tour dates an locations here.
