DS Interview: Bracket talks “Hold Your Applause,” what took so long to make it and what’s coming next

Californian pop-punk veterans, Bracket, recently released their first album in nearly a decade, “Hold Your Applause.” I was lucky enough to catch up with members Marty Gregori and Angelo Celli to discuss the making of it, what took so long, and what’s in store next for the band.  Spoiler Alert: They’re already working on a new album!

Bracket streaming new song “A Striking Disappearance” off upcoming album

Bracket‘s first new full-length album in nearly a decade is due out next week, and to get you pumped, the pop-punk stalwarts released a new song from the album. Listen to “A Striking Disappearance” right over here.

The album, Hold Your Applause, is set to be released August 5th on digital format, with CD pre-orders shipping the same week. You can place your pre-order here.

Bracket also announced vinyl pre-orders are now available as well, through Head2Wall Records. The first pressing is limited to just 300, and you can get yours here.



Bracket stream new song “Caving In” from upcoming album “Hold Your Applause”

Californian pop-punk veterans Bracket are streaming a new song entitled “Caving In,” taken from their upcoming album Hold Your Applause. You can give the track a listen below.

Hold Your Applause, which will be the band’s first full-length in 8 years, is set to be released on CD later this month and on vinyl in August. Pre-orders for the CD version of the album can be placed on the band’s webstore.

The Californian pop-punk veterans in Bracket have released a teaser video for their first new full-length in 8 years entitled Hold Your Applause and you can check it out on their Facebook page.

The band last released three rarities compilations via Bandcamp to fund Hold Your Applause. Their last studio album Requiem was released on February 7th, 2006 through Takeover Records.

Bracket reveal tracklisting for “Rare Cuts – Vol. 3”, announce plans to release two new albums

California pop-punk legends Bracket have revealed the tracklisting (see below) for the third installment in their rarites/b-sides album series “Rare Cuts,” and have also announced plans to release two new albums:

Like the last two “Rare Cuts” releases, this is not new Bracket music, but most of you haven’t heard most of these, and all of you haven’t heard a few of these. The “Rare Cuts” digital albums are being released to help us afford the physical release of two brand new Bracket albums. We just finished recording one of them – expect the release of the first of 2 new Bracket albums in early 2014. Previews will make their way to our facebook page soon!

We’ll keep you posted as more details surrounding the band’s two new records come to light!

Bracket stream “2 Hot Dogs For 99 Pence” from upcoming rarities album “Rare Cuts Vol. 2”

California pop-punk legends Bracket are streaming an alternate take of their song song “2 Hot Dogs For 99 Cents” (from 1995’s “4 Wheel Vibe) which will be appearing on their upcoming rarities album “Rare Cuts Vol. 2.” Here’s what they had to say about the track:

“A song from the John Peel Sessions. Recorded in England in 1995. We changed the cents to pence because we were in England and because we are incredibly clever.

Bracket announce “Rare Cuts Vol. 2”, stream 2 tracks

Forestville, CA’s pop punk legends, Bracket, will be releasing their second rarities album, “Rare Cuts Volume 2″ on June 14th.  Per the band:

This is not new Bracket music, but most of these songs are either really hard to find, impossible to find, or have just been found by us. These series of “Rare Cuts” digital albums are being released to help us afford to release two brand new Bracket albums (both currently being worked on). Thanks for your support and enjoy!
