The Split Seconds sign to Altercation Records for new album “Center Of Attention”

DC’s pop punk band The Split Seconds have signed to Altercation Records who is planning to release their full length entitled Center Of Attention in the spring of 2017.

Altercation co-owner Travis Myers had this to say:

“We are very excited about signing The Split Seconds, they have a retro punk sound that reminds me of the bands I grew up listening to, almost a hybrid between The Dead Boy’s and the Jam…they also have a modern sensibility that I think will appeal to anyone who likes good rock & roll. We had heard of them through mutual friends in the music business and I had listened to their stuff which I thought was really great, but once I saw them on stage I was sold, The Split Seconds are an act that will be noticed.”

Altercation is planning on a March release for the album which will be immediately followed by a tour down to Austin Texas for Appearances at the South By South West music convention, and numerous tours in 2017.

DS Album Premiere: The Split Seconds (70’s influenced punk) stream self-titled album

DC-based pop-punk band The Split Seconds drop their new, self-titled album, on July 8 and from the sound of it you’d have no idea the band has only been playing together for a year.

Founded by former Coastals and Boardroom Heroes guitarist Drew Champion in 2015, The Split Seconds are rounded out by Sean Peterson (drums/vocals), Alex Massi (guitar/vocals) and Tristan Sahwell (bass). The foursome bring a “revival of 1970s era punk” and much like the sound of their influences, the band’s name is a reference to the stripped down, fast-paced stylings of their idols, such as The Buzzcocks, The Clash, Generation X and The Damned.

The Split Seconds will be celebrating the album’s release on July 7 at the Black Cat but until then we invite you to stream it until you’re heart’s content below.
