Saves the Day, Red City Radio, Terror & more added to Groezrock 2014

Groezrock has just announced more awesome bands for the 2014 lineup. In addition to the previously-announced The OffspringNOFXScreeching WeaselAlkaline TrioBodyjarSNUFFMadball , The Lawrence ArmsBrand New, and Iron Chic (among others), the festival will now also feature Saves The Day, Red City Radio, Terror, and more.

Hit The Deck Festival adds Brand New, Saves the Day and more

The UK Hit The Deck Festival has added Saves The Day, Memphis May Fire, Gnarwolves and a handful of other bands to their 2014 lineup. Brand New is scheduled to headline.

Hit The Deck is a two-day festival that takes places at multiple venues in Bristol and Nottingham, UK.

Hi, I’m Andy and I’m a Dying Scene scribe. I’ve had to overcome many obstacles in my life, but none quite as difficult as compiling this here top 10 list. 2013 has been such a great year for quality punk that narrowing this year’s releases down to just 10 was extremely challenging . The albums in their present order have changed a hundred times over, with many amazing albums not even making it. So if you don’t agree with some releases on the list, your alternate was probably on there at some point. Here goes…

Saves The Day add headlining dates to European tour

Saves the Day have added some more European tour dates in the spring.

The New Jersey emo/pop-punk group will headline seven shows in Germany and Italy. Check out the dates below.

The shows come on the heels of a short tour in the UK, supporting Brand New. You can find a list of those dates here.

Saves the Day last released their self-titled album in September, via Equal Vision Records.



Max Bemis finished writing his half of Two Tongues’ upcoming record

According to a recent post on his Twitter page, Say Anything frontman Max Bemis has finished writing his portion of songs for Two Tongues‘ upcoming record:

“Just finished writing my “half” of the next Tongues record. Now just need @ChrisLaneConley to take these tunes into the dreamscape (:”

We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as more details on the album are revealed.

In case you aren’t familiar with Two Tongues, it’s Bemis and Saves The Day frontman Chris Conley’s side-project. The group released a self-titled album in 2009 through Vagrant Records.



Saves the Day announced as support for Brand New UK tour

A few days ago we told you that Brand New would be going on a small tour around the UK. Now it’s been announced that Saves the Day will be joining them on the four-date trek.

Brand New released their last album, Daisy, in 2009 on Interscope Records.  Saves the Day, meanwhile, released their self-titled album in September 2013 through Equal Vision Records.



Saves The Day, The Ghost Inside, A Skylit Drive & more added to Warped Tour 2014

The latest lackluster Warped Tour lineup announcement sees the addition of Saves The Day, The Ghost Inside, A Skylit Drive, Beartooth, and I The Mighty to the 2014 edition of the touring festival.

Anthony Raneri (Bayside) debuts “String Me Along” video from “Our Voices” compilation

Anthony Raneri of Bayside has released a new video for the track “String Me Along.”

The song appears on the “Our Voices” EP, a compilation of solo tracks from Ranieri, Adam Lazzara (Taking Back Sunday), Chris Conley (Saves the Day), and Vinnie Caruana (I Am the Avalanche) that is out now on I Surrender Records. The EP is streaming here.

In case you haven’t heard yet, I Surrender Records managed to gather Adam Lazzara (Taking Back Sunday), Anthony Raneri (Bayside), Chris Conley (Saves the Day), and Vinnie Caruana (I Am the Avalanche) all together to put out a four-way split EP titled Our Voices.  Each frontman contributed a brand new song for the EP, and now the entire thing is available to stream, courtesy of AbsolutePunk.

Our Voices will be released on November 25th. The label plans to turn Our Voices into an on-going series so we’ll keep our ears to the ground for any future installments.



New Song: Adam Lazzara (Taking Back Sunday) – “Because It Works”

Last month it was announced that  Adam Lazzara (Taking Back Sunday), Chris Conley (Saves the Day), Anthony Raneri (Bayside), and Vinnie Caruana (I Am the Avalanche) would be releasing a split EP titled Our Voices. Raneri was the first to release his contribution (which you can listen to here), and now Adam Lazzara has stepped up and revealed his tune from the split, a folksy, harmonica laden tune titled “Because It Works”.

Our Voices will be released on November 25th through  I Surrender Records.



Free Download: Sparrow Sleeps – “Can’t Lay Down: Lullaby Renditions of Saves the Day Classics”

Here’s something for all you punk parents out there! Sparrow Sleeps, a project created by a husband and wife duo, have worked on recreating classic tunes by pop punk and emo bands into sweet lullabies for their newborn’s listening pleasure, and now they’re sharing these songs with the world. The first collection of songs is titled Can’t Lay Down, and features eight lullaby versions of tunes of New Jersey’s Saves the Day.

You can check it out below. If you (or your child) enjoy it, you can download it for free from their bandcamp.

Can’t Lay Down is only the first lullaby album that Sparrow Sleeps plans on putting out. Next month will see the release of Your Favorite Lullabie: Lullaby Renditions of Brand New Songs. Future installments may also include songs by Alkaline Trio or Jimmy Eat World.



Saves the Day announce holiday acoustic tour with Walter Schreifels (Rival Schools) and Jon Simmons (Balance and Composure)

New Jersey pop punk mainstays Saves the Day have announced that they will be going out on a short US acoustic tour of the Northeast in December. Joining the band will be Walter Schreifels (Gorilla BiscuitsQuicksandRival Schools) and Jon Simmons (Balance and Composure).

Saves the Day released their eighth studio album, Saves the Day, on September 17, 2013 through Max Bemis’ Rory Records, a subsidiary of Equal Vision Records.

Light Years stream “All-Star Me” (Saves The Day cover)

As you’re probably aware, Ohio pop punk group Light Years are putting out a covers EP called “Trying To Be…” Today, they’ve released another track from the project, this time it’s “All-Star Me” a classic from Saves The Day.

“Trying To Be…” will be released October 23rd on Paper + Plastick Records.
