Blaqk Audio (AFI side project) playing rare show in June

Looks like AFI electronica side project Blaqk Audio will be playing a show in Sacramento, CA in early June. No word yet on whether this is just a one-off show or if more dates will be announced soon.

The band will play on June 4th at Ace of Spades. Tickets are only $18 before service fees ($3.95) and will be joined by Boggan & Hamm FM.

Blaqk Audio is comprised of AFI vocalist Davey Havoc and AFI guitar player Jade Puget.  The side project’s second release will be a follow up to 2007’s debut “Sexcells” released on Interscope Records. You can stream two new songs titled “Cold War” and “Bon Voyeurs” right here.

2 more new songs have surfaced from AFI electronica side project, Blaqk Audio.  You can stream the tracks “Cold War” and “Bon Voyeurs” right here.

The duo reportedly has over 30 songs worth of material to use in a new album though no details have been announced regarding its release.

AFI electronica side project, Blaqk Audio is streaming a brand new song titled “Down Here” and you can stream it right here.  No word on what this means in terms of a future release but the band stated in an interview last summer that they have over 30 songs worth of material to use in a new release, which they plan to put out sometime after AFI finishes touring for their last album “Crash Love.”

Interview: Davey Havok talks new music for Blaqk Audio

AFI News Headquarters recently conducted an interview with AFI lead singer, Davey Havok, in which he discussed the releasing of new music from his and Jade’s electro side project Blaqk Audio.  The full interview hasn’t been posted yet but they did mention that Davey and Jade have recorded 33 new songs and plan to release something “shortly after” AFI is done touring their new album Crash Love.  Says Davey:

“There is so much material that we have… Jade and I have been talking about which songs are going to go where, and we’ve had thoughts of releasing EP’s and singles… it’s really difficult to create a record because I feel that so much is going to be left out.”

Blaqk Audio’s first album, CexCells, was released in 2007 on Interscope Records.



Blaqk Audio (AFI side project) recording new album “Bright Black Heaven”

blaqk-audio1According to the super sleuths over at AFI News Headquarters it seems that AFI‘s Davey Havok and Jade Puget are currently in the studio recording the second album for their electronic music side project Blaqk Audio.  The name of the album will be titled Bright Black Heaven.

Blaqk Audio’s first album, CexCells, was released in 2007 on Interscope Records.
