Ahead of the band’s upcoming album, NOFX have released a brand new single titled “Fish In A Gun Barrel.” In an intro to the song Fat Mike explains that the song was written in 2016 but the band held off on releasing it due to it hitting a little too close to home so soon after the Vegas shootings. Given the recent spate of gun violence in the US earlier this month, the band decided to use the track to help raise funds for Moms Demand Action, a grassroots movement fighting for public safety measures that protect people from gun violence.
Check out the song, along w/ Fat Mike’s introduction below.
NOFX last released Ribbed – Live in a Dive in 2018 via Fat Wreck Chords. Their last studio output was First Ditch Effort in 2016.
The band recently released a full length album titled Wearing Beige On A Grey Day. You can read our review of the album here. The last time the band were in Australia was back in 2017, which was also their first tour outside of Europe. You can get yourself tickets through Oztix.

Calling all party punks! You’re invited to a vamparty, which is kind of like a van-party with less sucking… or MORE! I don’t know, but Dying Scene is ON THE FUCKING GUEST LIST, and we’re thrilled to be taking all out readers along to crash this sucker with us. Figuratively, of course, we’re actually almost never on the guest list for anything. Remember that, and make sure and tip your bartenders and hook up your neighborhood volunteer punk rock journalists every time ya’ get the chance.
Doc Hammer is a hardcore rock and roll five-piece led by front-man Josh Ravin who is “all about letting loose and letting go.” For fans of Dillinger Escape Plan, the band claims they are “equal parts party/ equal parts metal for the people.” They will be releasing their first full length album, Neon Devil, on Paper + Plastick Records Sept. 1, which should then be available on all the regular streaming platforms. Dying Scene is stoked to bring you the early release of Doc Hammer’s newest single off Neon Devil titled “Vamparty Diaries”, today.
“As veterans of the music industry, the dudes of Doc Hammer are no strangers to the scene, evidenced by the grit and sense of determination felt in all their songs. Their driving guitar riffs and catchy, anthem-like hooks create a harmonious blend of hardcore and rock n’ roll. With live shows notorious for their energy and spirit, Doc Hammer is setting a new standard for rock n’ roll. Be it jumping into and playing inside the crowd or crawling around and hanging from the rafters, Doc Hammer is all about stirring it up and starting the party.” (EPK)
Following the release of Neon Devil, Doc Hammer will be embarking on an eleven-date tour along the west coast (U.S.) before returning to their San Diego home where they can be found tapping kegs and Magic The Gathering cards (apparently) for the forseeable furture. Check out that tour schedule and stream “Vamparty Diaries” below.

New York pop punk band Patent Pending have returned with their first original release since 2015. The new song ‘Punk Rock Songs’ arrives ahead of their run in the UK with Eternal Boy and Neverthere, with an appearance at Reading and Leeds Festival. The last release from the band was a cover album ‘Other People’s Greatest Hits’ in 2017. There is yet no mention as to whether this new song will feature on a more substantial release in the near future. The song is very catchy even though the chorus melody is slightly borrowed from a song by the band ‘fun’.
Check out ‘Punk Rock Songs’ below.

The great city of Dayton, Ohio has been hit with back to back tragedies this year. With the unthinkable event that took place earlier this month, when an active shooter opened fire in the city’s Oregon District and killed nine people and injured dozens more. As if that wasn’t enough Dayton was also ravaged earlier this summer by fifteen tornadoes on Memorial Day.
So suffice it to say the community could use a little morale boost as well as a helping hand, and enter the great singers of Bayside, Saves The Day, Thursday and more to be a part of Dayton United: A Benefit For The Dayton Foundation. The event will take place August 28th, at the Dayton Masonic Live.
If you’re in the area be sure to head on over and support this great cause. Check out this acoustic version of Bayside’s “Sick, Sick, Sick” below to get you in the mood.
