Gainesville, Florida ska punk heroes Less Than Jake will be releasing “Greetings and Salutations” on October 15th, and you can check out a stream of “Goodbye, Mr. Personality” right here.

Not a new full length album, this is rather a combination of the band’s most recent EP’s “Greetings From” and Seasons Greetings From” plus two unreleased songs.  Less Than Jake‘s last full length album was 2008’s “GNV FLA”, released on Sleep It Off Records.

Less Than Jake announce special shows, one time only poster

Less Than Jake have announced a show in Orlando on Saturday, August 11 as part of its 20th Anniversary tour. Continuing a year-long celebration of two decades as a band, this Orlando date will be accompanied by a one-time-only limited poster show at The Beacham Theater. Tickets are available now at Less Than Jake’s website.

You can check out all of the info here.

The Orlando show is part of a weekend of Florida dates for the band. It will play in Jacksonville on Friday, August 10. Two back-to-back performances in the band’s hometown of Gainesville at the end of the month will cap a busy August for Less Than Jake, during which they will hop over to the UK to play the Reading and Leeds festivals.

Less Than Jake has always prided itself on thinking forward in terms of merchandise,” drummer Vinnie Fiorello says. “From vinyl toys to Evo Kid piggy banks to cheese- and birthday cake-shaped records, we’ve always tried to give our fans as many unique products as possible to capture the material part of being a fan. Doing the poster show is an extension of our collective thought. It’s special to us to be able to do something like this for our 20th anniversary.

The poster show will feature 20 different limited-edition screenprinted pieces of art celebrating Less Than Jake, an event made possible by Orlando natives Charlie Bender and Brad Palkevich. Bender and Palkevich own Enemy Ink an arts and music-focused custom screenprinting shop in Orlando, and they also head up local punk rock band The Attack. Bender sings and Palkevich plays guitar.

Enemy Ink and Less Than Jake have invited a variety of artists to the poster show. “From influential designers such as Horsebites, who has helped bring notoriety and an identifiable tone to much of the Florida music and print worlds, to artists like Joe Simko, who has contributed to ska and punk by creating artwork for The Vans Warped Tour on several occasions, we have a great group of artists gathered for this event,” Palkevich says.

Most of the 20 different designs will be hand-signed and numbered by the artists that created them. The posters will be limited to only 30 units of each design available at the Orlando event. Fans will be able to purchase posters beginning at the 6 p.m. door time and continuing throughout the night. Additional limited quantities of the posters will be available online for fans of the band who want to own a part of Less Than Jake history but don’t live in Florida.

The Orlando show will be supported by The Attack and Topshelf RecordsYou Blew It!

Pouzza Fest Interview: Chris of Less Than Jake fest, Montreal scene, touring and future recording plans

If you ever needed a reason to visit Montreal, I have two words for you: Pouzza Fest. This festival completed its second year in May, with three days of over a hundred bands playing multiple venues. Taking place in Montreal’s downtown core, amongst the student protests that have marked Montreal in recent months, bands came from all over to hang out and play to packed venues.

Though Less Than Jake didn’t get to see the whole festival (they flew in from Bamboozle, then off to another show the next day), Chris did take a few minutes to answer some burning questions about weather, what to do in Montreal, and punk kids.

Check out the interview right here.

Show Review: Less Than Jake / Samiam / Flatfoot 56 – Live at the Brooklyn Bowl

Seminal 3rd wave, 90’s ska band Less Than Jake is currently touring in celebration of 20 years together as a band. That’s impressive, especially considering that the genre’s movement all but ceased to exist roughly a decade ago. On February 21st, for the second time within a week, Less Than Jake stopped at the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY with openers Samiam and Flatfoot 56.
