NJ/NY emo goup, Prawn, have released the music video for their song “Laki.”

The song appears on their 4-way split with Droughts, Frameworks and Kittyhawk, which was released earlier this year via Fair Weather Records.



Prawn and Joie De Vivre stream new split record

New Jersey and Illinois emo groups Prawn and Joie De Vivre are now streaming their new split which is set to be released tomorrow via Count Your Lucky Stars Records and Topshelf Records. The record features three new tracks from Joie De Vivre and two from Prawn.  You can give the album a listen here.

Prawn is also currently in the studio working on their next full length album.



Prawn entering the studio, hitting the road

NY/NJ based emo goup Prawn are entering the studio this weekend to record their next full length.

They are also hitting the road with You Blew It! for a short run of dates this February, which you can find details on below.

We’ll keep you posted as more info on the band’s upcoming album comes to light. Prawn last released Ships in 2012.

Tour: Prawn, Calculator take on U.S. East Coast this summer

Prawn and Calculator will be hitting the East Coast, as well as some spots in the U.S. Midwest and Canada, in late July and early August.  Full tour dates are listed right here.

Prawn is about to release their newest EP in July, and the recording process was covered in a documentary released last month.  Calculator released their latest album “New Forms” at a pay-what-you-what scale.  You can download it by going here.



Prawn release a documentary for their new EP

Prawn have released a video documentary which details the recording process leading up to their upcoming EP, which they recorded and mixed with Greg Dunn. The video can be found here. The band comments:

Holla. Over the past few months our best friend Scott Davis has been following us around and filming our every move. He compiled all the footage into a 12-minute documentary detailing the process of recording our new record and preparing for our first European/UK tour. If you want, we’ve included a donation link to help fund our tour for Europe. Any donations would greatly be appreciated and we’d be beyond thankful, but either way, we hope you enjoy the film. ALSO from now until the end of August we made our albums ‘You Can Just Leave it all’ and ‘False Institutions’ pay-what-you-want on our Bandcamp. There is NO minimum cost! Take care everyone.”

The new EP is supposed to be out on July 17th on Topshelf Records.



No Sleep Records and Topshelf Records join forces to release “Topshelf vs. No Sleep: 2,995 Miles Between Us”

After weeks of speculation, Southern California based No Sleep Records has just announced they are joining forces with New England’s Topshelf Records to release a CD compilation, “Topshelf vs No Sleep: 2,995 Miles Between Us”, which will feature new, unreleased and rare music from Pianos Become The Teeth, No Trigger, Moving Mountains and La Dispute among many others. The compilation will be available next week (May 22), exclusively at the punk-est store out there…Hot Topic.

The comp will feature 20 tracks, as well as a code to download a bonus 50 song digital sampler. Also hidden amongst the releases will be “golden tickets” redeemable for various prizes, including No Sleep Records and Topshelf Records 2012 vinyl subscriptions, t-shirts, tickets, stickers and much more. No Sleep president, Chris Hansen had this to say about the collaboration,

“I am honored to be involved in such an amazing community, and to be surrounded by so many friends all over the country and the world. The Saddest Landscape reissue first EP “Cover Your Heart” on vinyl for Record Store Day

The Saddest Landscapes first EP, Cover Your Heart, will be reissued on vinyl by Topshself Records for Record Store Day on April 21. The band will also be playing a secret show in Wallingford, CT that day.

The Saddest Landscape released their most recent album After the Lights on February 14, 2012 via Topshelf Records.
