Converge plan “All We Love We Leave Behind” U.S. and Euro-tours

Influential hardcore/metal act Converge are planning a tour in support of their new record, “All We Love We Leave Behind.” The tour kicks off September 1st, ten days before the scheduled release of the album, and will take the band around the continental United States and into Europe. Converge bassist Nate Newton writes op-ed on tour food

Bassist Nate Newton of Converge recently wrote up a lengthy article on the history of tour food. Check out an excerpt.

“I like food/ Food tastes good.” In 1981 the Descendents unknowingly wrote a lyrical masterpiece and, unwittingly, my mantra. Yeah, that’s right, I like food… a fuckin’ lot. It’s a miracle that I’m not morbidly obese, or haven’t died of a heart attack or diabetes because I love to stuff comestibles in my face hole so goddamn much.

Converge announce release date for new album

Heavy Blog Is Heavy is reporting that the new Converge album All We Love We Leave Behind will be released on September 11th, the same day as the new record by NOFX. This was confirmed by their singer Jacob Bannon during the band’s performance at Le Poisson Rouge in Manhattan, New York on May 26th.

A new album is not the only release Converge have scheduled for this year. They are releasing a 7″ split with Napalm Death and a mini-documentary. No release dates for either of those releases have been announced, but when details surface, we’ll post them here.

Converge released their last album, Axe to Fall, in 2009.

Converge and Napalm Death announce split 7″

Current metal/hardcore icons Converge will be releasing a split with grind legends Napalm Death. The split is due out later this year through Deathwish, Inc. and will feature two new tracks from both bands. Stay tuned as a release date and cover art are announced!

Converge performed a pair of new songs live over the weekend in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Fan footage of the songs can be seen here.

Converge finishes recording vocals for new album, mini-documentary on lead singer in the works

According to a post on the band’s facebook, Converge has finished recording vocals for their upcoming full-length album, “All We Love We Leave Behind,” due out late Spring/early Summer.  In addition, it looks like around frontman Jacob Bannon is in the works.  Here’s the actual update:

Finished vocals for the new Converge album last night. The session was filmed for the upcoming mini-documentary on me by McFarland and Pecci.

Get Stoked! Records releases “One H.E.L.L. of a Compilation”

Get Stoked! Records has rust released a 71 song digital compilation aptly titled “One H.E.L.L. of a Compilation”.  Contributing bands include notable acts such as Converge, A Loss For Words, Transit, and a crap load more that I’m too lazy to type.  The compilation is also available in 2xLP format. All proceeds will go directly to helping keep the non-profit organization “Helping Everyone Live Longer” (H.E.L.L.) alive.  The DIY organization’s main goal is to give out free helmets from donations while raising bike safety awareness after the founder’s friends Gordon Riker & Kelly Wallace both tragically passed away in bike accidents in Boston, MA in 2007.

Converge to begin recording new album “All We Love We Leave Behind” next month

According to a studio report featured in the current issue of Decibel magazine, Converge have set All We Love We Leave Behind as the title of their long-awaited new album. The band expects to begin recording the album with tentative plans for a late spring/early summer release on Epitaph. No further more details have been revealed, but we shall keep you posted.

Live hardcore DVD to benefit earthquake victims, LGBT (feat. Touche Amore, Converge)

Independent video blog Hate 5 Six, has produced and released a four-hour live benefit DVD featuring 18 of today’s best hardcore bands called the “Hate 5 Six Diaries: Volume 1.” Notably, the DVD features Kid Dynamite, Touche Amore, Converge, Pulling Teeth, and more. Check out the trailer here. All proceeds from the DVD will be benefiting victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake victims directly through One Hundred for Haiti.

The site is also selling t-shirts to benefit the Mazzoni Center in Philly, which provides medical care to the LGBT community. Both would make great gifts for any hardcore fan this holiday season, and you can pick them up right here.
