Baltimore hardcore act Trapped Under Ice may be recording new music soon, following a year of being on hiatus. The band recently posted the following on their Twitter page:

We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything else about Trapped Under Ice getting back together. The band last released Big Kiss Goodnight in 2011 through Good Fight Music.

New York hardcore legends Madball have announced a tour of the UK for the Fall with support from Breaking Point and Coldburn. You can check out the dates and locations below.

Madball’s latest album, Hardcore Lives, was released in June via The Black N Blue Label (in U.S.) and Nuclear Blast (in Europe).

Funeral For A Friend streams cover of “Rookie” by BoySetsFire

Welsh post-hardcore group Funeral For A Friend is now streaming a new cover of the BoySetsFire track “Rookie” and you can check it out below. On the cover, the band commented:

We all love “Rookie,” it’s probably the most recognizable BSF song and we figured because of its connection with people that we should give it a shot…It was so much fun to play; it’s such an anthem.

The song will be featured on Funeral For A Friend’s upcoming split with Boy Sets Fire, which will be released on May 13th via No Sleep Records and will serve as a follow-up to 2013’s Conduit.

New York hardcore legends Madball are currently on day six of recording their new album, which is due out this summer.

Madball last released the Rebellion EP in 2012 through Black N’ Blue Records.

Their latest full-length album “Empire” was released in 2010.

New York hardcore legends Madball announced on their Facebook page that they will release their new album this summer. It will be their first since 2010’s Empire. Here’s an excerpt from the post:

Madball writing new album

Songfacts recently conducted an interview with Madball guitarist Mitts, who confirmed that the band is now writing new material for their next album, which will be their first since 2010’s Empire. Here’s an excerpt from the interview:

“We’re writing for a new record right now. We’ve got three or four songs. As a hardcore band, our songs are fairly short compared to metal — they’re not, like, seven-, eight-minute songs. Our songs are generally between two and three minutes, so we usually go for in the 12-to-15-song range for a record. We like to have at least 30 minutes.”

Funeral for a Friend to enter the studio tomorrow

Welsh metal/punkish band Funeral for a Friend have announced that the recording sessions for their seventh studio album will commence tomorrow. The bands vocalist Matthew Davies states:

“Dear Friends of the Internerd…

From Monday FFAF will be holed up in the studio for two weeks with a rather nice lad called Lewis Johns (Goodtime Boys, Sharks, Gnarwolves, The Long Haul etc) recording what will become our 7th full length record (yes 7, oh how time does fly!).

Madball announce west coast shows with Twitching Tongues and Born Low

New York hardcore legends Madball will be playing five shows in the West Coast with Twitching Tongues and Born Low next month. The tour includes mostly shows in California, and all the dates can be found below.

Madball last released the Rebellion EP in 2012 through Black N’ Blue Records, and have been working on a new album for more than a year. Twitching Tongues released their latest album In Love There Is No Law last August, while Born Low released the EP Refuse to Beg earlier this month.

Conditions stream cover of U2’s “With or Without You”

Virginian post-hardcore group Conditions are streaming a cover version of the U2’s “With or Without You”, originally taken from their 1987 iconic album The Joshua Tree. The cover of that song was released to celebrate their upcoming US tour with You Me at Six and Tonight Alive. Bassist Alex Howard on the song:

“When we were talking about songs we all love, we kept looking back at some of the classics rather than recent music. ‘With Or Without You’ is one of the best songs ever written. We wanted to try our hand at something that helped shape all of us as musicians and music lovers.”

The Chariot announces farewell tour dates

After announcing last week that they have decided to call it quits, The Chariot have released the dates for their final tour together as a band.

The tour will see support from Glass Cloud, Birds In A Row, To The Wind and Rebuker. Check out the dates here.

The Chariot released their fifth and final studio album, One Wing, on August 28th, 2012 via Good Fight Music.

The Chariot break up; announce plans to play farewell tour in the fall

Georgia ‘mathcore’ act The Chariot have decided to throw in the towel for good after 10 years of being a band. They released the following statement along with a farewell video, which can be seen here:

Thank you. To everyone on this planet Earth that has ever supported us, helped us, watched us, hung out with us, given us a place to stay, given food, prayed over us, loaned us equipment, advised us, booked us, or given us a chance, no matter how big or small…we are forever grateful.

The band plans on playing one last tour, starting in October and running through mid-November, with Glass Cloud, Birds In A Row, To The Wind and Rebuker. We’ll keep you posted as more details on that surface.
