Billy Liar (folk punk) releases new album “Lies Lied Live”

Edinburgh, Scotland solo folk punk act Billy Liar has just released a new album Lies Lied Live and you can check it out below.  The download is available for purchase on Billy’s bandcamp page, and there are limited edition, hand-numbered physical copies that you can pick up as well.

Billy Liar is on tour in the UK right now with Joe McMahon of Smoke Or Fire and you can find those dates below.  He will also be in the US in October with some TBA dates, as well as FEST in Gainesville, Florida.

PMX release music video for new song “Brave Face”

Scottish skate-punkers PMX have released a music video for their brand new song “Brave Face” off their upcoming release Dark Days. Check it out below!

Dark Days is slated for a September 5th release via Make That A Take Records. The album will serve as a follow-up to PMX’s The Ballad of Tony Montana, which was released in May 2013.



Make That A Take Records releases “Songs for Mum” compilation

Scottish punk label Make That A Take Records have just released Songs for Mum:  A Compilation Against Cancer, and you can check it out below.

The album, which you can download for just a few dollars, features “songs of loss and songs of hope ” from a variety of up-and-coming bands.  The comp was created to raise funds for Maggie’s Centres, a Scottish cancer support network.

Music video: Broken Stories (folk punk) cover Bad Religion’s “Generator”

Scottish folk punks Broken Stories recently did their rendition of Bad Religion‘s “Generator” at a show. Check out a video from the performance below.

The video is from the band’s show over the weekend at the 13th Note in Glasgow, with Franz Nicolay, Dave Hughes, and Tragical History Tour.

Broken Stories last released their EP, It’ll Be Alright, back in November. You can stream the EP here, and buy a copy on digital or vinyl here.



Uniforms calls it quits, releases final EP titled “Pink Couch”

Scottish melodic punk band Uniforms have decided to call it quits. The band released the following statement:

“Words are inadequate to express the depth of the gratitude we have for everyone who took a chance on and supported our silly punk rock band. UNIFORMS has been therapy for me, the soundtrack to our lives and a central focus of existence for the last three and a half years. For that I shall be forever grateful.”

The band also made their new (and last) EP, Pink Couch, available for streaming. The band had originally planned to release it in March 2015 through Make That A Take Records. You can check it out below.



Get It Together release latest EP “Rebuild, Recover” on vinyl

Scottish melodic hardcore/punk act Get It Together have released their latest EP Rebuild, Recover on vinyl through Make That A Take Records. Those who haven’t already heard the EP can check it out below. And if you like what you hear, be sure to support the band by picking the 7-inch up from the label’s Bandcamp.

Rebuild, Recover was initially released digitally and on CD last November, serving as a follow-up to Get It Together’s 9-song debut EP Perspectives, which was released in December of 2013.



New Music: Unwed (feat. Jason Black of Hot Water Music) sign to 6131 Records, debut new track “Weapons”

Been a while since we heard anything from the Unwed camp, but today brings with it some pretty cool news. First and foremost, the Brooklyn-based five-piece, which features members of Small Brown Bike, Primitive Weapons and, of course, Hot Water Music, has announced that they’ve signed to 6131 Records (big news day for that label, by the way).

More importantly, Unwed have announced that their debut full-length, “Raise The Children,” will be released via 6131 on April 14th. You can stream the brand new track “Weapons” right here.

Unwed’s debut 7-inch was released in January 2014 via No Idea Records.
