Interview: Matt Ridenour (Hawthorne Heights) discusses running your own label, “Hate” EP, etc.

Hawthorne Heights, as you may recall, recently started their own record label, Cardboard Empire, (after three full-lengths on Victory Records and one on Wind-Up), and made their latest EP, “Hate,” the label’s first release.

HH’s bassist Matt Ridenour recently sat down with IGN (yes, the video game website) for a pretty interesting interview discussing the trials and tribulations of running your own label and how that has influenced the band’s evolving sound. Pretty good read; check it out here.

“Hate” was released on August 23rd, and serves as the first part of a reported trilogy. No word on follow-up release dates yet.
