Agnostic Front to reissue their live album in July

To coincide with their 30th anniversary tour, Agnostic Front have announced that Bridge Nine Records will be reissuing their 1989 classic live album Live at CBGB on July 17th. The reissue will come with an embossed LP cover with the original Live at CBGB artwork as well as limited edition red, white and blue striped vinyl with multiple other colors available. About the reissue, vocalist Roger Miret states:

“With this year being our 30 year anniversary as a band with myself singing I wanted to play a special show here and there so I came up with the idea of playing our classic Live At CBGB set. This was the set front to back from our legendary live recording released in 1989. That was a magical time for the band and Hardcore was thriving at it’s best in 1988 when it was recorded. As an honorable family member with the Bridge Nine crew, I knew that the label should be home to this special re-release as much as CBGB was home to Agnostic Front. We are making this re-release very special for the record collector in a red, white and blue color and our timeless original cover embossed to add that punch it held back in 1989 as intense today in 2012! Along with this special re-release we are doing a handful of special shows in the U.S. to coordinate with the release. This will be a great release team effort with Agnostic Front and Bridge Nine… here it is – the glory days of 1988 New York City Hardcore as relevant today, tomorrow and forever!”

Agnostic Front released their latest album My Life, My Way on March 22, 2011 on Nuclear Blast Records.

Vinnie Stigma (Agnostic Front) covers Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”

NYHC veterans Agnostic Front are/were on tour in Europe when the tragic news hit of singer/actress, Whitney Houston’s death. I’m sure by now, anybody that has an internet connection is fully aware of this news.

In honor of the late diva, Agnostic Front bassist, Vinnie Stigma, took to the stage for a little A capella version of Houston’s famous, “I Will Always Love You”.

Thankfully, someone in the audience was there to record the whole thing, which you can check out here.

After “I Will Always Love You”, Vinnie continues his rant with Johnny Cash’s “Pauly The Beer Drinking Dog”, before the rest of the band joins in for a Ramones cover. The video finishes off with Agnostic Front’s “Victim In Pain”.

Agnostic Front are on tour in Europe until March, after which they will be heading to Australia and elsewhere abroad.

Members of Agnostic Front & Insted form hardcore supergroup, The Alligators; sign to Bridge Nine Records

Members of legendary hardcore act Agnostic Front and Insted have formed a hardcore supergroup, called The Alligators. The band has also signed to Bridge Nine Records and announced they will releasing their debut full-length, “Time’s Up, You’re Dead,” through the label on March 27th, 2012.

Read a short statement from Roger Miret (Agnostic Front) on the band’s formation, signing to Bridge Nine, and the release of their debut full-length:

“The Alligators has been a fun side project i’ve been doing with the guys from Insted (California Hardcore band from the 80’s) – an odd fit you might think, but make no mistake: those guys are hard. Rich and I have been friends since the early 80’s and periodically talked about doing music together, so this is a record I’ve been meaning to do for a long time coming. With the addition of DYS and Antidote to B9 roster and the re-release of Agnostic Front’s ‘VIP/United Blood’, we are happy to add this to the Bridge Nine family.”

We’ll keep you posted as more details on the band’s debut full-length, and other info on the band surface.
