Brandon Bolmer (vocals) and Tanner Wayne (drums) leave Chiodos

Following with the recent news explosion surrounding D.R.U.G.S. and Chiodos, we regretfully announce that vocalist Brandon Bolmer and drummer Tanner Wayne have parted ways with Chiodos.

The band released this statement via Facebook regarding the news,

Hey everybody. Long time no update, we know. We figure it is about time for one after seeing the news today, that you’ve likely seen by now also. Unfortunately, Tanner and Brandon have decided to leave the band. We have been at a stagnant state for the last six months, so the fact that they are ambitious to move on with their lives is totally justified and understandable. We’ve had some killer experiences with them and were able to write one of our proudest albums with them in the hardest of times as a band. We ask for all of our fans continued respect and support towards them and us in our future endeavors. We must all keep looking forward……..

This news comes on the heels of another announcement that original vocalist, Craig Owens, may be rejoining the band. Lots of stuff going on with this band, so make sure to stay peeled to Dying Scene for any and all updates.

Statements from both Bolmer and Tanner can be found here.

Craig Owens returning to Chiodos (maybe, probably)

Alright, so starting last night the internet has been all a twitter with rumors of Craig Owens returning to Chiodos as the group’s lead singer.  Owens was originally kicked out of Chiodos in 2009 and then went on to form D.R.U.G.S. while Chiodos found themselves a new singer in Brandon Bolmer and carried on sans Owens.  Both bands had successful releases since then, especially D.R.U.G.S., but Owens has recently been making announcements that he has new material in the works for an unexpected unnamed project, and now Bolmer has confirmed that he is parting ways with Chiodos.

All in all, it’s looking pretty likely that Owens and his former Chiodos bandmates will be collaborating again.  Whether it will be under the name Chiodos or a new project entirely, we’ll wait to see.

Music Video: Chiodos – “Notes In Constellations”

Flint, MI, post-hardcore act, Chiodos, have premiered the music video for their song “Notes In Constellations” and you can check it out right here.

The song was written about Christopher “Notes” Olsen, a longtime musical collaborator, producer and friend of band frontman Brandon Bolmer. It was inspired by the death of Olsen and references the pain of losing a loved one.

Bolmer had this to say, “I had started writing the song years ago, on a trip up to the snowy mountains of Big Bear, CA with my girlfriend, her sister, and Notes. The song was originally written about two lovers who were forced to part ways from one another. After his death, the song took on a dual meaning and became a song that Notes could have written for his girlfriend after he passed on.”
