Live Video: Tim Timebomb and Friends cover Operation Ivy’s “Sound System”

Many of you noticed when we posted video of Tim Timebomb and Friends covering the legendary Operation Ivy’s “Yellin’ In My Ear” early last week. Apparently the band also covered the classic Op Ivy track “Sound System” while on tour in Dallas. To paraphrase a previous editor on this very site: “check that shit out here.”

Tim Timebomb streams “In the Dew and the Rain Version”

Tim Timebomb and Friends are streaming yet another song.  This one is a calypso tune from the 1930’s, titled “In the Dew and the Rain”. The version just released is completely instrumental, but a lyrical version was released early last month.

Even though it’s just an instrumental, I’m betting most of you will probably recognize the song. The original, written by Lincoln Chase and first recorded in 1956 by LaVern Baker, was named one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 “Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.”
