Nations Afire are heading out on two different tours with Strung Out and Death By Stereo. With all this time on the road, you’re bound to catch them somewhere near you. Look over the Dying Scene Shows page to see how far of a road trip you’re going to have to make.
Nations Afire released their album, “The Uprising” in April 2009. As far as I know, they are still unsigned.
Take a look at this new video for Death By Stereo‘s track, “The Last Song,” which premiered on Ultimate-guitar.tv. The song is from the band’s album, “Death is My Only Friend,” that was released on Serjical Strike Records this July.
The band has some upcoming show. To see if they are playing in your city, check out the Dying Scene Shows page.
Yesterday Victorville’s, California’s Skyline Collapse played their last show. Members of the band are all pursuing different side projects, which are mentioned in this farewell note from the band:
JP currently plays guitar in Death By Stereo and Austrian Machine, and is starting a side project called In Hand. Justin also plays in Austrian Death Machine and will also be playing in In Hand as well with JP. Jonathan and Brian have started a new band with 3 new individuals, and will hopefully have some new music available in the near future.
We want to thank each and everyone of you for all of your support, love, and friendship over the years. Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows, picked up a shirt or a CD, and helped to spread the word. It has meant the world to us.
While together the band released 2 albums, the 8 song EP “The Fight For More” (2006) and their self-titled full-length (2008). Skyline Collapse played a unique blend of metal infused melodic hardcore punk and this writer is bummed to see them go. Give them a listen if you haven’t heard them before.

Fullerton hardcore act Death By Stereo uploaded a new music video “I Sing For You” from their newest album “Death is My Only Friend” on Serjical Strike Records earlier this month. The video consists of the band performing as well as fans in a mall singing along with the band. Vocalist, Efrem Schulz comments on the mall scene:
It was an amazing time, people were freaking out and the mall cops as well as real cops chased us out and through the parking lot. All things condidered, we pulled it off! Elliot Dillman is a genius director! We hope everyone has as good of a time watching it as we did filming it! Thanks to all the rad people that came out and took over the mall!!
Check out the video and sing along on the full story page.
Death by Stereo Vocalist Efram Schultz had an interview with Rhapsody where he gives us some insight into how the band has progressed into more of a heavier metal band, the process of making their latest album over two years, lyrical messages and signing with Serjical Strike Records. To check out the entire interview head over to the Rhapsody Blog.
Death by Stereos latest album “Death Is My Only Friend” came out July 7th, 2009 on Adrenaline Records.
Old Shoe Records announced via thier myspace blog that they will be making available the 3rd volume of their comp “Welcome To The Family” at the Warped Tour and any other Old Shoe events this summer. The album will feature 20 tracks from Old Shoe bands and others, including Gaslight Anthem, Far From Finished, and Death By Stereo, and will only cost a buck.
We wanted to post this because we recently discovered that a lot of the Old Shoe bands are freaking awesome. That, and they promised to pay us 1% of the revenue from each sale which our non-existent accountant tells us could be worth millions!
You can see the entire tracklisting for the comp here.
