Dead To Me post another studio update

Hardworking Fat Wreck punks Dead to Me have posted yet another studio update.  Here’s what they had to say,

We’re approaching the end of the first week of recording here at Atlas Studios in Chicago and things are already shaping up quite nicely. We are done with rhythm guitars essentially and have already finished all the bass and drums. Sam finished a large chunk of lead guitars as well, so we will start singing soon for sure. This is historically right around the time I start second guessing my lyrics and melodies and have a miniature mental breakdown. The other dudes have assured me I will do great though and I really like what Matt has told me about his approach to recording vocals so I feel pretty good this time around. Anyone that has ever made a record before will tell you that there is a lot of downtime in the studio. We’ve been spending most of ours by taking walks in the neighborhood, frequenting the Dunkin’ Donuts in the middle of the night, watching Cubs games, lurking at Whole Foods, and by crushing 30 packs of Busch Light with Matt and his handsome young engineer Justin Yates. Our buddy Toby from Red Scare came by and hung out the other day and took us to a great sandwich spot up the street, good times. All in all things are going great and I’m really enjoying the record making process this time for sure. The sounds are awesome so far and I cannot wait to share these songs with everybody out there.

The band recently announced plans for an upcoming split 7-inch and an upcoming full-length album.

Dead to Me posts studio update

Dead to Me is currently hard at work in the studio. And to prove it, the guys have posted their first entry of their studio diary. Here’s what the band had to say about recording:

“Things are going great so far for us here at Atlas. We’ve been making quick work of the drums and bass so far and already have a decent chunk of rhythm guitars done. We are all big fans of Matt Allison’s work and we feel really lucky to be able to work with him. The whole vibe over is here is really laid back and he is really easy to work with, and even easier to hang out with. We are excited about this record and so far the sounds we are getting are fantastic. I can’t wait to hear the finished product! Here’s a little clip of Ian doing his thing, check it….”

You can watch the studio update here. This will be the first full length since 2009′s African Elephants and the first with new members Sam Johnson and Ken Yamazaki.
