Caskitt announce new LP “Old Fires New Frontier,” release video for first single

San Diego punks Caskitt have announced they will be releasing a new album titled Old Fires New Frontier on September 16th through La Escalera Records and FtLP Records.

The band also premiered a music video for the LP’s first single “Blinders,” which you can check out below.

We’ll keep you posted as more details on Old Fires New Frontier come to light. Caskitt last released This Machine Kills Sadness in March, 2015.

Western Settings streaming new EP – ‘WS’

Southern California punks Western Settings are now streaming their new EP in its entirety. Give a listen to WS below.

The release is a set of acoustic and 8-bit versions of originals and covers of the Bouncing Souls and Fugazi. It’s out now on La Escalera Records.

WS comes just three months after the band’s previous EP, Old Pain.

Squarecrow releases new music video for first single “First Flight”

California punks Squarecrow has released a music video for “First Flight”, the first single off of their upcoming album “Rammi Jamms” being released May 27th on CD/digital download through La Escalera Records.

Western Settings stream new EP “Old Pain”

Southern California punks Western Settings are streaming their new EP Old Pain in full and you can check it out below and I strongly recommend you do.

Old Pain was officially released on April 15th through La Escalara Records (digital & CD) and Creator-Destructor Records (10″ vinyl) and is the band’s first release since their full-length Yes It Is released through Dying Scene Records in February, 2015.

Western Settings is hitting the road in May/June in support of the new EP. Check out the dates and locations below as well.

DFMK loses instruments, belongings in van fire

Just 2 weeks ago, we posted about DFMK‘s spring tour, and the Tijuana-based punk band now has some unfortunate news.  On March 28th, an oil leak caused their van to catch fire.  Thankfully, the band members and their friends travelling with them all made it out safely, but the van and all of the band’s instruments and gear went up in flames.

The band’s label, La Escalera Records, has launched a fundraising page for those who want to help DFMK get back on the road.  You can check it out here.

Tijuana punk act DFMK have just released their new 7-song EP, 7 Canciones Sobre Un Individualismo Radical (7 Songs About Radical Individualism), and you can stream it below.

The record is a co-release between  La Escalera Records, Get Better Records and Sex Sheet Records.

Bastards of Young to release new album “White Knuckles” next month

Sacramento punk act Bastards of Young have announced that they will release their new album White Knuckles on April 7th through La Escalara Records. The band is streaming one song from the album “East Noble (All Roads)”, which is below, along with a short California and Mexican tour.

Bastards of Young last released the split with SuccessCivil War Rust and Western Settings, entitled Burrito Wars, in October 2014.

La Escalera Fest 5 lineup includes Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Heartsounds

La Escalera Records turns 5 this year, and they’re having a bash to celebrate! First is two days (April 15th & 16th) in San Diego and then a third day (April 17th) in Tijuana, Mexico. The lineup this year includes Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Heartsounds and Get Dead. You can find more information about the shows here and tickets are available here.

From Scars (hardcore) release new EP “Homesick”

Poppy hardcore act From Scars have released a new two-track EP entitled “Homesick”. The EP is short and snappy, angsty and emotional and according to the band’s Facebook account was recorded back in 2013 when they were still active:

“They’re songs about desperately trying to forget about bad times and move on, and coping with being far from your family & friends. Those were the themes that inspired us in the years we were active, and are still very relevant to us. Hope you guys enjoy them, and I hope we can play them for you soon.”

The release marks the first new material from the band since their 2012 offering “Spare Change”.
