Alexisonfire announce live album/Blu-ray

Alexisonfire is coming back strong in 2015. In addition to their recent reunion, the band has announced Live at Copps, a four album vinyl/Blu-ray set. The live album captures what was once the band’s final performance at Hamilton’s Copps Coliseum on December 30, 2012.

The album is available to pre-order as a part of a bundle (also including Moneen’s Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now? and the Alexisonfire / Moneen split album, The Switcheroo Series) right here. If you don’t want it as a part of the bundle, pre-sales for Live at Copps on its own will be available here starting on May 29, 2015.

City and Colour finish tracking new full-length

According to a recent post on his/their Facebook page, City And Colour (better known as the solo project of Alexisonfire‘s Dallas Green — get it, ‘cuz his first name’s a city and his last name’s a colour if you’re Canadian) are finished tracking a brand new full-length!

C&C’s last album was 2013’s The Hurry And The Harm, which was released in 2013 via Dine Alone Records. Green was last heard from on last year’s You + Me project (seen above) that features Green and Pink side-by-side and which is actually much better than you might imagine, faithful readers. FIDLAR announced spring tour with METZ

FIDLAR’s self-titled album was released back in January 2013 through Dine Alone Records, while METZ will release their new album METZ II this Spring though Sub Pop Records.



Free music: Twin Forks releases split with Jukebox the Ghost

The folk/Americana group Twin Forks has a new split EP out, and you can download it for free here.  You’ll hear Twin Forks covering “The Great Unknown,” which was originally recorded by their tourmates Jukebox the Ghost.  Jukebox then covers Twin Forks’ “Cross My Mind.”  The split has been released on the band’s label, Dine Alone Records.

The band most recently released a self-titled album this past February, and they’ll be on tour over the next few months with Lucero and Ryan Bingham.  You can find all the tour dates here.



Lyric Video: City and Colour – “Nowhere, Texas”

Ontario’s City and Colour has just released the lyric video for their track “Nowhere, Texas” and you can check it out below.

On the track, the guitarist and vocalist Dallas Green (for whom City and Colour is an alias) commented:

“Nowhere, Texas” is a new song for you but an old song for me. I recorded it during my session for The Hurry and The Harm. I knew as soon as I listened to it there was a better place for it than the album.

His latest album, The Hurry and the Harm, came out in June 2013 via Dine Alone Records.



Twin Forks (Nashville folk) will support Lucero on tour next year

Nashville folk/Americana 5-piece Twin Forks will head out on tour with Lucero and Ryan Bingham in 2015.  You can find all of the dates below.

Ontario hardcore act Grade has just announced that they will be releasing a 2-song EP through Dine Alone Records. The work is entitled “Collapsed Lung” and will be released on November 28th.

Additionally, the band’s upcoming tour dates in Brooklyn and Philadelphia will serve as record release parties.

Single Mothers release music video for song “Half-Lit”

Canadian post-hardcore band Single Mothers have released a music video for their track “Half-Lit” and you can check it out below.

The song is off their debut full-length album “Negative Qualities” which was released yesterday, October 7th, on Dine Alone Records.

The Fullblast (Canadian progressive punk) are back, announce new show/EP plans

Happy Hump Day…The Fullblast are back!

The Ontarian progressive punks, who’ve been effectively defunct since 2006, have announced plans to play a few shows in their home province (and in Detroit). While they won’t be returning to being a full-time touring band in the foreseeable future, there is a new EP in the works. Here’s what the band had to say (via Facebook):

Okay, so – as you may have noticed, there’s been some activity around here and we’re happy to finally let you in on what’s been going on. In short – we’re sort of a band again! Not the kind that tours and is the number one priority in all of our lives, but the kind that allows friends to come together creatively and have fun. We’ve begun recording an EP of new material which we are very excited about. No immediate details on when or how it will be released, but we’re working on it. Additionally, we’re stoked to announce 3 shows coming up in December in Toronto (Sneaky Dee’s), Detroit (The Swellers final Detroit show) and Burlington (BURLY CALLING) Tickets are on sale now !

Dallas Green (City & Colour, Alexisonfire) and P!nk form new band You+Me; announce debut album and stream new song “You and Me”

Dallas Green (best known as the mastermind behind City and Colour as well as the former guitarist of Alexisonfire) has formed a new folk band called You+Me (pronounced “you plus me”) with none other than pop singer/songerwriter P!nk. The band will be releasing their debut album, rose ave. later this fall, and to get listeners ready for some brand new music, the duo is also streaming the album’s first single, the aptly titled “You and Me”.
