Terror cancels show in Czech Republic in support of Randy Blythe

LA hardcore vets, Terror, have cancelled their show in the Czech Republic in support of Lamb Of God frontman, Randy Blythe, who is being held in a Czech prison for allegedly killing a fan during a show in Prague back in 2010.

Here’s what Terror had to say on the matter:
TERROR is going to cancel their show in the Czech Republic this month. We feel obligated to stand up for Randy Blythe. This situation seems to be taken too lightly. Randy comes from punk and hardcore roots, just like TERROR. He still supports underground music and has always supported TERROR– even singing on stage alongside us when we play Richmond. This hits really close to home for us having members of the band and our crew from the hometown of LAMB OF GOD.

We love our Czech fans very much and have amazing shows there, but we need to ‘stick tight’ to our friend Randy, which is why we have chosen to cancel the show. As a band that could easily be in this same position at any given show, we don’t think we can play there and act like this is OK – it isn’t.

This is bigger than a hashtag or a clever t-shirt– we as a community need to take action and speak up. Free Randy Blythe.

The band will still be playing the US and European portions of their tour with Bane, and Rotting Out. Check out a full list of dates and locations they will be playing here. Their upcoming album, “Live by the Code,” will follow 2010′s “Keeper of the Faith.”

So a few weeks back we got to watch Terror tear the Hi-Fi in Brisbane apart in one of the best and craziest shows this year. As only Terror could do, the barrier was removed and kids were diving off the stage with absolutely no regard for their health.  We loved it.  Check out all the shots here.

Parkway Drive working on new album

Fans of Australian hardcore band Parkway Drive can expect some new material soon via Epitaph Records.  The band has announced they have entered the studio to begin recording their yet-to-be-titled fourth album, and the follow-up to 2010’s Deep Blue, via Resist Records.

The band will be working with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Terror) on this album.  Here’s what vocalist Winston McCall had to say about what fans can expect:

“Well, I think that out of all our records this one’s probably going to shock people the most, because there are some things in here that…[pauses] I don’t think it’s big changes to the Parkway Drive sound, but we’re going to add stuff to the sound that people would never expect. On Deep Blue, we experimented with a couple of new things in small doses to see if they worked–and they did. So this time around we said, “Okay, if that worked, we can do it to a larger degree, and we can do it in more places, and do it with more instruments and more voices.”

If you can’t wait to hear this album, you’ll have to hang tight for just a little while longer.  The band expects to release the album before the end of 2012.

If you want some Parkway Drive stuff to get you through that time, why not check out their “Home For The Heartless” DVD?

Los Angeles hardcore veterans Terror will be releasing a retrospective CD/DVD/LP titled “No Regrets, No Shame: The Bridge Nine Days” which captures the band in their beginning stages with never-before-seen interviews and performances from one of their most popular albums, “Lowest of the Low.”

Filmed back in January of 2003, Terror performed at the Showcase Theater in Corona, CA and the footage was captured by then-new filmmaker Ian McFarland (now of the established Killswitch Productions). The footage has been sitting in a vault at Bridge Nine for the last nine years and is finally assembled to see the light of day. With stagedives, sing-a-longs, and unparalleled energy from the band, “No Regrets No Shame” captures Terror in their most raw and nascent form. Bonus features like the “Push It Away” music video and a full set from Terror’s Headline Records in-store performance from the same timeframe are also included, and this CD/DVD (& LP with all remastered Showcase Theater audio tracks) release hits stores on April 24th, 2012.

Terror released their last album “Keepers Of The Faith” in 2010 on Century Media.
