The Affect Heuristic might be an unfamiliar name as of yet in European punk rock circles but this Belgian/Scottish five-piece are already working hard to change that. They’ve followed up this week’s debut single release with a second track for you lovely folk. We’ve been given an exclusive listen before they throw it up on their Bandcamp page later today. We figured it’d be rude to keep it to ourselves.
Below, for your listening pleasure is The Affect Heuristic with “Tightrope”. We’re thinking it’ll please all fans of Buckfast, french fries with mayo, and that plonker who had it in for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Enjoy!

Ever since I started writing for DyingScene.com, I’ve been exposed to a lot of rad European takes on the EpiFat sound. The Fatswines are the newest on my list of European bandcamp purchases.
Their latest EP, “All The Fatswines,” is name-your-price on bandcamp. It’s definitely worth a listen, and if you like it, be a champ and head to their bandcamp page and throw them some Euro funmoney. In the meantime, check out “All The Fatswines” below.
Just be nice and don’t tell them that the plural for “swine” is “swine.”

Scottish/Belgian shredders The Affect Heuristic are allowing folks to stream their debut single “Against the Grain”. The track is loaded with technical musicianship whilst still retaining strong melodic sections and is sure to excite all those confused sods who are too metal to be punk and too punk to be metal.
Recording duties for the single were undertaken by John Harcus of Scottish skate punk band PMX at John Harcus Audio Productions. Based on this taster of The Affect Heuristic, the forthcoming split with a soon-to-be-announced band is one we’re eagerly anticipating.
For now, you can check out “Against the Grain” below.
