Montreal horror-punk/psychobilly band The Brains are streaming their new album Out in the Dark, and you can hear it for yourself here. This is The Brains’ 7th album, following up 2013′s The Monster Within.

Montreal horror-punk/psychobilly outfit The Brains are set to release their 7th album, Out of the Dark, on October 30th. The band will then head out on tour for a series of dates in Canada with Los Kung Fu Monkeys through November, including the Stomp Records 20th anniversary shows. You can find all of the dates below.
Out of the Dark will be the band’s first album since 2013’s The Monster Within.

Los Kung-Fu Monkeys have released a new music video for their song “Taking It Easy” and you can check it out below.
The track is off the group’s upcoming album “Rudeboy Rockers,” which is set for August 14th worldwide release through Stomp Records.
The annual Rats Nest Run-In car show (and music festival) has announced six more bands that will be joining the fun on August 21st-23rd, 2015 in East Durham, NY (upstate, near Albany). The new announcements include The Koffin Kats, The Grizzly Band, Kyle Trocolla, Whiskey Kill, Dressed For The Occasion, and The High Five Revival.
In addition to the Rat Rods car show, burlesque, a pin-up contest, a tiki pool party, and pig roast, a number of rockabilly, psychobilly, and americana bands will play over the 3 days. The newly announced bands will be joining American Pinup, Creepin’ Cadavers, Those Crosstown Rivals, Pitchfork Militia, Lara Hope and the Ark Tones, and The Bothers.

Late last year, Less Than Jake drummer Vinnie Fiorello and Obi Fernandez of Westbound Train started a ska/reggae label called Rare Breed Recording Company. The label has just released a free, 15-song comp featuring songs from bands like The Toasters, The Slackers, and The Skints. In honor of the rapidly-approaching Pouzza Fest 2015, which takes place May 15-17 in Montreal, the city’s own Dig It Up has released a video of their performance of “Missing People” from last year’s Pouzza Fest, which you can watch below.
Dig It Up will be playing the Pre-Pouzza Party on May 14th, as well as HeavyMTL fest in August. The band’s most recent release was 2013’s Manners, which came out on Stomp Records.
