Montreal punk act The BCASA are preparing for the holidays in proper fashion, with the release of their Christmas album, “‘Tis the Season to Praise Satan”.
The four-track album includes songs like “Santa Killed JFK” and “Jesus Was Black (and Reagan Was The Devil)”, and will help benefit the Sun Youth Organization. According to the band,
All proceeds from the sale of this album between now and December 25th 2014 will go to The Sun Youth Organization…an organization that, among other things, gives food and presents to lower income families in the Montreal area for Hanukkah and Christmas. And that’s fucking cool.
Check it out below.
The BCASA released their last album, “Fuck You Shredder”, last June through Stomp Records.

As Deryck Whibley’s recovery from a near-fatal battle with alcohol continues, he’s been unearthing some gems from the Sum 41 vault. Today, he posted the original, previously-unreleased version of the track “Open Your Eyes.” The version everyone knows ended up on the band’s third album, “Chuck,” which just celebrated its tenth anniversary. Here’s what Whibley had to say:
i have a whole stock pile of old sum 41 stuff saved in storage. versions of songs that never got used, old demos, unreleased tracks etc. i found something the other day that i had forgotten about. this was the original version for the song open your eyes. it has a shorter first chorus and a different guitar solo. this was the way i intended the song to be but somehow it got changed in the studio along the way. i ended up using this solo in a different song later on, but i always liked this version and i still do
Check out “Open Your Eyes” in its originally-intended form here. Let us know what ya think in the comments below!
