Maxim Soria (former Valencia drummer) killed in motorcycle accident

Former Valencia drummer Maxim Soria died tragically in a motorcycle accident last night (September 30th) in Warwick, PA. According to Phillyburbs.com, local police say he lost control of his motorcycle while driving on a rural highway and hit a guardrail; he was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Soria played with the band from 2003-2009. He was 28 years old.



I Am The Avalanche announce pre-order for new album, post samples of the songs

I Am The Avalanche have launched pre-orders for their upcoming album, Avalanche United, which will be released on October 11 via I Surrender Records. Fans can pre-order Avalanche United here. You can also preview clips of the whole album at Amazon.com.

In order to promote Avalanche United, the band will be on tour this fall with BaysideTransit and Saves The Day. The tour actually starts a couple days before the release of their new album.

I Am The Avalanche have posted the tracklisting for their upcoming sophomore full-length, “Avalanche United,” and you can check it out here.

Promise of Redemption (Shane from Valencia) covers Alkaline Trio’s “Take With Lots Of Alcohol”

Another track from the upcoming Alkaline Trio tribute double album has found its way to your ears. This time, the artist is Promise of Redemption (solo side project of Valencia frontman Shane Henderson) and the song is “Take With Lots of Alcohol,” from A3’s 2001 album “From Here to Infirmary.”

Have yourself a listen right here. Sounds like it could have appeared on Dan Andriano‘s solo album if you ask me. As you probably already know, the Alkaline Trio tribute album is due out August 30th on Pacific Ridge Records.

Take Notice launch YouTube channel, still looking for lead singer

If you’re wondering why you haven’t heard much from Detroit pop-punkers Take Notice, it’s because the Detroit-based three-piece are still desperately trying to become a Detroit-based four-piece: they are still looking for another new lead singer. Today, the band launched an official YouTube page, and encourage their fans to submit audition videos. Check out the new site here, and if you submit a video and get the gig, don’t forget who tipped you off!

Take Notice’s last release was “The Get Go” 7-inch, released on I Surrender Records back in 2009.



Tour: Valencia post new New England dates

Philadelphia-based pop-punkers Valencia are staying busy this summer…

In addition to the handful of Zumiez Couch Tour dates that we told you about last week, the band announced a couple new dates for May, including one in New Hampshire (sorry…NH doesn’t get much love from touring bands, it’s kind of a big deal)! Check out the new dates here.

Pop-punkers Valencia will be headlining the annual “Zumiez Couch Tour” over the summer, alongside I See Stars and Forever the Sickest Kids. The tour will be free, feature skateboarding and much much more. Check out the dates here.

I Surrender Records is giving away a free download of the Valencia B-side track “Adrenaline.”  All you have to do is “like” their facebook page.

The song appears on the band’s recently released 7″ entitled “B-Sides and Rarities” featuring two never-before-heard songs, “Adrenaline” and “Fight or Flight.”

Pop-punkers Valencia will release a 7″ entitled B-Sides and Rarities featuring two never-before-heard songs, “Adrenaline” and “Fight or Flight.” It will be limited to 500 copies, with 50 available March 16th from I Surrender Records. The remaining available on the band’s upcoming tour.

Take Notice looking for new lead singer. Again. Still manage to release new song

Three months after announcing the addition of new lead singer, Joe Sherman, Michigan’s pop-punk act Take Notice is once again on the hunt for a new vocalist.  It didn’t stop them from recording a new song though, and you can check it out on the band’s MySpace page.  It’s titled “This Is Where We’ll Stay Alive.”

The band also posted a video update on what they’re up to, which you can watch here.

The band’s last release was The Get Go 7″, which was released in December of 2009 on I Surrender Records.
