Make-That-A-Take Records to release “SWEDEN THE DEAL” (a compilation of unreleased songs from Swedish bands)

Scotland-based punk ‘collective’ Make-That-A-Take Records has just announced that they will be partnering with a number of European record labels to release “SWEDEN THE DEAL.”

As the label describes it, the compilation will feature, “unreleased skate/punk/rock bangers from a selection of Sweden’s finest.”

You can listen to a little sampler of tracks from the upcoming compilation and view the track list here. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.

The comp will be officially released on December 10th and will feature material from Kept, Trevolt, Rebuke, From The Tracks, Lapdog, Same Old Story, Broken Aris. Many labels are collaborating for this compilation including Lockjaw, Riot Ska, and TNS, just to name a few.



Make That A Take Records release “Book Yer Ane Fest VII” comp (Murderburgers, Antillectual, Uniforms, etc)

Make That A Take Records have just released part One of the “Book Yer Ane Fest VII” compilation featuring a bunch of pretty solid up and coming punk acts.  You can check it out by streaming it here and if you dig it you can download it for a £2 donation. All donations will go to Safe-Tay and the causes they support; this year being Tayside Mountain/Water Rescue.

Book Yer Ane Fest is a three-day DIY punk/hxc/emo/whatever festival hosted by Make-That-A-Take Records held annually in Dundee. It is a charity festival to raise money for Safe-Tay, a water safety charity, and the causes that it supports. Over the years they have raised in excess of £4000 for Safe-Tay and Tayside Mountain and Water Rescue.



Make That A Take Records stream Loaded .45 / Uniforms split

Make That A Take Records is streaming the upcoming split between Colorado-based punks Loaded .45 and Scottish melodic punk band Uniforms. The split is due out on May 31, 2013 according to Bandcamp.

Uniforms/Loaded 45 team up for split 7-inch, UK tour

Scottish melodic punk band Uniforms and Colorado-based punks Loaded .45 have teamed up with Make That A Take Records for a split 7-inch. Click here to stream the four tracks (two from each band) and to order your very own copy. It’s available in digital form today, and hard copies should be available soon.

Full Album Stream: Maxwell’s Dead / The Walking Targets split

Scottish punk label Make-That-A-Take Records has just made their most recent split available to stream in its entirety.

The album features two songs each from Edinburgh punks The Walking Targets and Dundee ska/punk act Maxwell’s Dead, and you can check it all out right here.

Make That a Take Records streaming tracks off “Shape of Cowpunk to Come” split EP

Scotland punk label Make That A Take Records just unveiled two tracks off the upcoming “Shape of Cowpunk to Come” split EP. The two songs are from The Walking Targets and Maxwell’s Dead, and they’re available for streaming here.

The CD split is due out March 8. If any of you are in Scotland, there will be a record release show in Dundee the same night.

Uniforms recording acoustic tracks for limited release

Scotland punk rockers, Uniforms, have announced via their Facebook wall that they are recording acoustic tracks for “super-limited” release tomorrow.

Here’s what they had to say, “Recording acoustic tracks for a super-limited release tomorrow. Get ready for our miserablism to sound real fucking miserable.”

The band last released a track called “Keep On Keeping On” which you can stream here.

The Walking Targets and Maxwell’s Dead announce upcoming split

Make-That-A-Take Records have announced that their next release will be a split CD/digital download from young Scottish punk bands The Walking Targets and Maxwell’s Dead.

The record is due for release in March 2013. In the meantime, both bands have releases available from Make-That-A-Take as pay-what-you-want downloads.

Make-That-A-Take have also announced the dates for Book Yer Ane Fest VII, which will take place in Dundee from Friday 29th November through Sunday 1st December 2013.

Uniforms hinting at upcoming tour dates

Looks like Scotland’s melodic punk act Uniforms will currently be working on more than just a few split EPs. The band has posted some pictures on their facebook hinting on a UK tour in early 2013.
