Frank Turner announces solo and full-band Canadian tour dates

If the Canadian fans among us were bummed that Frank Turner didn’t bring his Positive Songs For Negative People tour up north of the 45th and/or 49th parallels (depending on where you live), you’ll have plenty of chances to catch him in the coming year.

Starting February 18th in Nova Scotia, Turner will be embarking on a solo tour that’ll run through March 2nd in British Columbia. From there, he’ll join up with the Sleeping Souls and head back east in a run that extends from March 3rd in Vancouver to March 13th in Montreal (the great, vastly underrated Northcote will accompany Turner on all dates). Check out the full rundown below, and get ticket info here.

Positive Songs For Negative People was released in August on Xtra Mile Recordings / Interscope Records

Against Me! perform “True Trans Soul Rebel” on Late Night With Seth Meyers

We told you it was coming, so I figured we should follow up on it, in case any of you missed it, or want to see it again. Look below for video of Against Me! performing “True Trans Soul Rebel” on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

Against Me! last released their live album, 23 Live Sex Acts, back in September via their own Total Treble Records. The band’s last studio album was 2014’s Transgender Dysphoria Blues. They’ve already been working on a new album, but we still don’t know much (or really anything) about that one. We’ll let you know when we do.

Set Your DVRs: Against Me! to appear on Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight

Laura Jane Grace and her band of merry melody makers continue their quest toward world domination tonight by serving as musical guest on tonight’s episode of NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers. The show airs at 12:35am Eastern Standard Time, and Against Me! will be on after my fellow Granite Stater Meyers’ main guests Ralph Fiennes and Dr. Jill Biden. Check your local listings for or the Late Night website here details, kids!

Laura also did a Q&A takeover of Late Night’s Facebook page earlier today; check out the results here.

Against Me!’s live album, “23 Live Sex Acts,” was released back in September via their own Total Treble Records.

Against Me! back in the studio recording new album

Laura Jane Grace announced on her Twitter profile that Against Me! have been back in the studio recording their highly-anticipated new album with producer Marc Jacob Hudson, which will serve as the follow-up to last year’s Transgender Dysphoria Blues.

It is currently not known when the new album will be released, but we’ll keep you posted as more details on it come to light. Against Me! released a live album earlier this month, 23 Live Sex Acts, and we recently posted some articles celebrating 10th anniversary of their third album Searching for a Former Clarity.

Frank Turner teases ‘The First Ten Years’

Frank Turner has been pretty busy lately. He’s currently embarking on a US tour with Skinny Lister and Beans on Toast, supporting his new album Positive Songs for Negative People, and just last week he did not one, but two, interviews with us here at Dying Scene (you can listen to him chat with the Bobs on our podcast here or read Jay’s print interview with Turner here). And as if that weren’t enough, Turner and Xtra Mile Recordings are teasing a new project titled The First Ten Years. There are no official details regarding The First Ten Years yet although there is a webpage that’s counting down to Monday, October 5, 2015 5pm GMT, which is when the full details will be revealed. You can check that out here.

Based on the title, we can speculate that it will be some sort of compilation collection, much like Turner’s previously released albums The First Three Years (2008), The Second Three Years (2011), and The Third Three Years (2014). Of course, that’s just pure speculation and in no way a sure thing. We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.

You can catch Frank Turner on his full-band tour across the US through October, then across the UK through November. Check out the remaining dates and locations here.

Against Me! to enter the studio next week

It is currently not known when the new album will be released, but we’ll keep you posted as more details on it come to light. Against Me! released a live album earlier this month, 23 Live Sex Acts, and we recently posted some articles celebrating 10th anniversary of their third album Searching for a Former Clarity.
