Senders releasing “Recovery” 7-inch on Kiss of Death Records, streaming new track

kiss-of-death-recordsThe latest punk band to come out of Gainesville, Florida is a group called Senders and it looks like they’ll be releasing a 7-inch on Kiss Of Death Records this summer.  The release is titled Recovery and it’s due out June 29th.  You can listen to the track Cuffed on the band’s MySpace to get a taste of their self-described “stoner-emo” style.

I thought Gainesville, Florida had already reached its quota of awesome bands, and here comes SENDERS to once again remind us that our scene’s are cesspools full of unoriginal trash. Pioneers of the “stoner-emo” genre, this fearsome foursome brings heavy riffs with a heaping helping of melody ala Hum.Oh yeah, and did I mention they’re going on tour?! Their trip begins at this weeks first ever RAD FEST and you can see if they’ll be in your neck of the woods below. Check these guys out!

O Pioneers! releasing split 7-inch with Junior Battles, streaming new song

kiss-of-death-recordsKiss Of Death Records is releasing a split 7-inch between Houston, TX’s O Pioneers! and Toronto’s Junior Battles.  The album was recorded during a marathon practice session in Toronto last month. Both bands have offered up a new song, with O Pioneers! contributing That’s My Blood to coincide with Junior Battles’ Passing Out.

This pairing marks the eighth line-up change for O Pioneers! in half as many years.  You can read a statement from band mainstay Eric Solomon on how this release came to be right here.

New Bruises, The Measure (SA), Chillerton, Above Them 4 way split 7-inch

Mouthbreather on tour

kiss-of-death-recordsRichmond, Virginia’s Mouthbreather are kicking off their summer tour next week which takes them all over the United States east coast and midwest. The band will end their tour with a performance at the first ever Rad Fest in Wilmington, North Carolina alongside Leatherface, None More Black, New Mexican Disaster Squad, the Sainte Catherines and more.

FREE Download: “Traditional Failures” EP by No Friends (ex-New Mexican Disaster Squad and Municipal Waste, etc)

The folks at Kiss Of Death Records just made No Friend’s EP Traditional Failures available for free download on their website. This is what Kiss Of Death had to say,

The records should be arriving from the pressing plant any day now, and will be available on a one-sided 12″. We will also be releasing a high quality (320 kbps) mp3 version for super cheap. The band featuring Tony Foresta (Municipal Waste), Sam Johnson (NMDS, VRGNS), Richard “Horsebites” Minino (NMDS, Gatorface, None More Black), and myself [Alex] (NMDS, Gatorface, VRGNS) will be embarking on an east coast tour at the end of next week. New Music: Light Yourself On Fire EP “Sea Legs”

light-yourself-on-fireTampa hardcore act Light Yourself On Fire have recorded a new EP over at Atomic Audio.  The release is titled Sea Legs and it contains three brand new songs which you can stream on the band’s MySpace page.  No word on an official release date yet.

Light Yourself On Fire released their last full-length album, Intimacy, in 2008.

Virgins heading to recording studio!

Florida punks Virgins have just announced that they will be heading to the studio next month to begin working on their second album, Animals (tentative title). In a recent press release it was stated that,

Orlando’s VIRGINS will be entering the studio on February 11th to start work on their second LP, the follow-up to 2008’s Miscarriage, released by Kiss of Death Records. The sophomore album is tentatively titled Animals and will find the band once again headed to Louisville, KY to record at Headbanging Kill Your Mama Music with Lords’ Chris Owens. Virgins have already sealed a blood pact with Tampa’s Kiss of Death Records to release the album, as well as a teaser 7” in the months prior to the album’s release. Afterwards, they’re also planning a split 7” with NY’s Stolen Parts on No Idea Records.

Virgins will make appearances at Harvest of Hope Fest 2010, from March 12-14th, and at Rad Fest in Wilmington, NC, May 14th-15th. Plans are currently in the works for runs up the East and West Coast, as well as a European tour, later in 2010.

They are going to be doing a 7″ split with their friends Vacation Bible School, a 7″ split with Sharks Come Cruisin’ (out on Mind Over Matter Records), and then a split for Vinyl Collectives Under The Influence. To round it all out they have their own full length record, The Morning Pistol, coming out some time in 2010 on Kiss Of Death Records…they are currently finishing up the writing for the album. Make sure you keep checking back for more news on the release dates.

Anchor Arms released their last full-length, “Cold Blooded” on Fail Safe Records in 2008.

m1Anchor Arms released the cover today for their soon to be released 7″ split with Madison Bloodbath due out on Kiss Of Death Records. You might recognize Heather Gabel’s work from other albums she has done with bands like Alkaline Trio and Rancid.

Anchor Arms plans on releasing their second full length some time mid 2010 on Kiss Of Death Records.

The Knockdown knocked down

the-knockdownBad news for The Knockdown fans.  Looks like the band is calling it quits for now.  Here’s the announcement from the band:

As some people may know, we’re going on hiatus for a bit. With me in Florida and the rest of the guys in New York, we just can’t be the kind of band we want to be. To say that this band affected my life in a positive way would be a gross understatment. Traveling with my best friends and meeting so many amazing people over the years has enriched my life greatly and it’s sad to have to hang it up for now. This isn’t to say that The Knockdown is completely done. Don’t write us off yet!

The band’s last full-length album, Test/Rerest, was released in January 2009 on Kiss Of Death Records.

Video: Anchor Arms post new video of two songs!

anchorarmsFlorida punk trio Anchor Arms just posted a video from a recent show containing two songs. The first, Steve Vai, is on the band’s upcoming album, The Morning Pistol, which is set to be released mid 2010 on Kiss of Death Records. The second song, Loose Lips,  is already out on the band’s split 7″ with The Anchor.
