Hayley Williams (Paramore) describes “post-apocalyptic” themes in upcoming music video for “Now”

In a recent interview, Hayley Williams recently discussed the post-apocalyptic/sci-fi feel of Paramore‘s upcoming music video for their song “Now,” which will be appearing on their upcoming self-titled album. Here’s an excerpt from the interview:

“The clip, which was directed by Daniel “Cloud” Campos and shot in Los Angeles, has a “post-apocalyptic, kinda sci-fi” feel, according to Williams. “It was really cool, just very different for us and active.”

Williams also mentioned that the video made her feel like “Leelo,” actress Milla Jovovich’s notorious character from the 1997 science-fiction movie The Fifth Element, or someone from Jovovich’s popular Resident Evil film franchise. The band’s label, Fueled by Ramen, expects to release the video the week of February 11.”

The band will be releasing their self-titled album on April 9, 2013 via Fueled By RamenWe’ll keep you posted as more details on it surface.



Paramore to embark on Spring tour in April

Paramore have announced a dozen US (and one Canadian) tour dates, scheduled to begin in April. You can view the dates here.

Paramore’s self-titled album is set to drop on April 9, 2013 via Fueled By Ramen. Their third studio album, Brand New Eyes, was released in September 2009.



Sublime With Rome announce South American tour dates with The Dirty Heads

Sublime With Rome have announced that they are going to tour South America again in March, this time with The Dirty Heads supporting them. All the dates can be found here.

Sublime With Rome last released Yours Truly in 2011 on Fueled By Ramen. The band has reportedly been working on a second album. The Dirty Heads’ latest album, Cabin by the Sea, came out last June on Five Seven Music Records.

William Beckett working on new full length; offers free download of “Scarlet (Tokyo)”

William Beckett, formerly of The Academy Is…, is offering up a “pay what you want” download of a version of his track “Scarlet (Tokyo)” recorded for the Pioneer Sessions. Get yours here, for free if you prefer.

Beckett also announced via twitter that he’s working on material for his formal debut full length. His 2012 “Walk The Talk” LP was a compilation of three previously-released EPs.



Vans Warped Tour adds 9 more bands (VersaEmerge, Early November, Tonight Alive, more)

In the third of fifteen band announcements, the Vans Warped Tour has announced that VersaEmerge, The Early November, Upon A Burning Body, Architects (UK), Forever the Sickest Kids, Shy KidX, Tonight Alive, Action Item and Oh, Sleeper will be joining the 2013 tour.

All the 2013 bands announced to date can be found on the Warped Bands page and look for the next announcement Friday January 4th.

Music Video: Rome – “Seasons”

Rome Ramirez, of Sublime With Rome, has released a music video for his song “Seasons”.  You can watch the video here.

The song comes off from his debut EP Dedication, which was released June 12th on Fueled By Ramen. Rome has mentioned that he has hopes to record a follow up LP sometime in the next year.

The Swellers and Pentimento post tour video

The drummers of currently-on-tour friends the Swellers and Pentimento have posted a promotional video documenting the dates they will be on the road together. Check out their video here, and be sure to give all your drummer friends their due.

 



Video: The Swellers become movie stars

You can add movie director and actor to the list of skills and talents of the Michigan punk act The Swellers.

Bassist Anto Boros has made a little documentary of sorts, which features the other members of The Swellers, as well as members of Into It. Over It., and Broadway Calls.

“Pretty Normal Activity” is six and a half minutes long, and follows the guys as they inhabit an alleged haunted house.

The band’s latest work is their “Running Out of Places too Go” EP, which was released October 16th on the band’s label, Snowbird Songs.

Fueled By Ramen founder made President of Interscope Geffen A&M

Sixteen years after cofounding Fueled By Ramen Records in his Florida dorm room John Janick is joining the majors as president and chief operating officer of Interscope Geffen A&M.  Given the fact that FBR has launched the careers of acts like Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, Panic! At The Disco and fun it seems well earned.  You can read all the minute details here.

Maybe now FBR will go back to releasing punk albums?
