Direct Hit! streaming new song “Buried Alive” off upcoming album “Brainless God”

Milwaukee pop punk band Direct Hit! are streaming a new song called “Buried Alive” off their upcoming album “Brainless God.”

Direct Hit! have revealed the cover art (pictured to the left) and tracklisting for their upcoming album “Brainless God,” which was produced by All-American Rejects guitarist Mike Kennerty, who has worked on the last few Screeching Weasel records.

Direct Hit! to release “Brainless God” in September

Coming at you straight from Red Scare themselves, the label has announced that Direct Hit!‘s upcoming sophomore album, Brainless God, will be released digitally on September 3rd, and physically on September 10th, with a vinyl pressing to follow on an unannounced date.

Brainless God will be the follow up to Direct Hit!’s debut album, Domesplitter, which came out in 2011 via Kind of Like Records.



Direct Hit! finishes mixing and mastering new album “Brainless God”

According to a  mobile upload by front-man Nick Woods, Direct Hit! has finished recording, mixing, and mastering their upcoming album Brainless God. You can take a sneak peek at the album in Woods’ personal iTunes library right here.

Brainless God is due out in July through Red Scare. It will be the follow up to Direct Hit!’s debut album, Domesplitter, which came out in 2011 via Kind of Like Records.



Direct Hit! and Lipstick Homicide announce North American summer tour

Pop punk bands Direct Hit! and Lipstick Homicide have announced their summer 2013 tour dates, seeing the two bands travel all over the West Coast between the US and Canada.

Direct Hit! will be releasing their sophomore album, Brainless God, later this summer, while Lipstick Homicide have begun recording their second album. 



The Copyrights touring East Coast and Midwest with Direct Hit! and Hospital Job

Illinois pop-punks The Copyrights have just announced a bunch of tour dates to follow up their co-headlining appearance at the upcoming Insubordination Fest.  They’ll be joined by Direct Hit! on some dates and Hospital Job on most dates.

Direct Hit! announces summer East Coast tour with Jetty Boys and Dee Cracks

Milwaukee pop punk band Direct Hit! have just announced a a slew of tour dates with Dee Cracks and Jetty Boys. The guys will kick off the tour in Michigan, before heading around the East Coast and Canada, with a final stop in Texas.

Free download: Direct Hit! release early unreleased songs, demos, live tracks

Milwaukee pop punk band Direct Hit! have released a total of 21 unreleased early songs, demos, and live tracks. You can download them all for free here. Many of the songs were re-recorded and re-released for their 2011 album “Domesplitter.”

“Brainless God,” the band’s sophomore full length, is due out in July via Red Scare.



Galactic Cannibal (Nick Woods of Direct Hit!) streams new song “Invisible”

Galactic Cannibal, a side project of Direct Hit’s Nick Woods, is streaming a brand new song called “Invisible” right here.

The song will appear on the band’s upcoming album “We’re Fucked” due out June 4th on Underground Communique, Lost Cat Records, Encapsulated Records and He Who Corrupts Inc..



Direct Hit! signs to Red Scare for release of new album “Brainless God”

Man I love Red Scare.  Here’s another reason why.  The Chicago based label has just announced the signing of Milwaukee’s pop-punk act Direct Hit!.

The band will be releasing their new full length “Brainless God” with the label in July.  For those that haven’t already heard, it’s being produced by All American Rejects axeman and world-renowned nice guy, Mike Kennerty.

The label states:

“There’s lotsa weird shit and wild concepts happening with this record and you’ll hear about ‘em in the coming weeks. Trust us on this one, this’ll be the next Red Scare band you get stoked on, and these charming dirtballs will be touring their asses off this year too.”

Mike Kennerty (All-American Rejects) producing upcoming Direct Hit! album “Brainless God”

Direct Hit! announce new album “Brainless God”, due out this summer

Bratwurst aficionados/Wisconsin power punk band Direct Hit! began recording their new album this week, revealed to be titled “Brainless God.” The band is aiming for a summer 2013 release.

The band had this to say regarding the album, set to be their second full-length release:

“We have a new full-length record coming out in a few months. It’s pretty much going to revolutionize music, as Tom DeLonge would say. Except ours is actually going to revolutionize music, and not be Angels & Airwaves. We had an acoustic version of one of the songs posted on our Bandcamp about a year ago. You can probably find it on the internet somewhere if you want a sneak peek.

Pay attention to this page if you wanna see what we’re working on. Lots of cool/dumb bullshit gonna be happening. Get pumped.”

Chicago punk label Johann’s Face Records has put together an awesome frontman-based compilation entitled “A Caustic Acoustic: A Benefit Compilation For Bucket O’ Blood Books and Records.” The record is, obviously, a benefit compilation for Chicago book and record store Bucket O’ Blood, and features songs by the likes of Sean Bonnette (Andrew Jackson Jihad,) Nick Woods (Direct Hit!, Galactic Cannibal), Jon Lewis (The Dopamines), Devon Kay (DK & The Solutions Direct Hit!, The Fur Coats) Marc Ruvulo (The Fur Coats, Das Kapital), and many others.
