Have Nots offer free download of new song “Heartland”

Boston (occansionally ska) punk band Have Nots have released a brand new song entitled “Heartland” and you can check it out below.

If you like what you hear, make sure to head over to Bandcamp to download the track for free!

The band hasn’t announced plans for a new record, but this song makes it seem as though one is in the works, so we’ll let you know if we hear anything! Have Nots last released “Proud” in 2011 through Paper + Plastick.



Punk benefit comp “This Is New England” released and streaming (Have Nots, Big D, Great Lakes, etc)

“This Is New England”, a pretty solid benefit comp featuring a bunch of really great punk and ska bands was just released and is streaming here.

The comp will help the dual causes of brain cancer and the Boston Marathon Bombing. Every last penny raised from it will be split between the One Fund (secure.onefundboston.org) and the American Brain Tumor Association (www.abta.org).

Yo, I am Lightning, the newbie here at the Dying Scene. For me, 2011 sorta fell short when it came to all out classic albums. That’s not so say there weren’t some good ones, but with the exception of my number 1 and 2 picks I just didn’t find any of them as great from top to bottom as say “Seedy” or “And Out Come the Wolves.”  Call me an old schooler if you will, I just expect more from bands these days.

Tour: Have Nots join Anti-Flag & The Flatliners on East Coast tour

Yesterday Anti-Flag announced the name, release date, and tracklisting of the upcoming album. Along with all of that they premiered a brand new song, entitled “The Neoliberal Anthem,” and announced they would be heading out on an East Coast tour w/ The Flatliners.

Well, in the spirit of keeping the good news going, Boston’s punk/ska outfit Have Nots have announced they too will be joining Anti-Flag & The Flatliners on their East Coast tour, which you can see a list of dates and locations for right here.

Have Nots released their last album, “Proud,” in May on Paper + Plastick, and Anti-Flag will be releasing their upcoming album, “The General Strike,” on March 20th via SideOneDummy.

Have Nots LP now on sale and new tour dates

You can now get the new Have Nots album “Proud” on vinyl for $12 from the Paper + Plastick online store. The album was first released in CD and digital formats in early May, the LP is available in three colours; clear, brick or midnight khaki green. You can have a look at those, and more options here.

Boston’s Have Nots recently caught up with BBC Radio 1’s Mike Davies on The Punk Show on their swing through the UK. In the process, they play three songs and chat for a few minutes about British punk, the Boston scene, and a bunch more.
