Floridian punks VRGNS are the latest in a long line of bands to record a cover for the UK label Cats? Aye! Records on going, weekly cover series. The band stopped by the Cats? Aye! to record an acoustic cover of ‘Attitude’ by The MIsfits.

Free Album Download: VRGNS – “Manimals”

We recently reported that Orlando punk trio VRGNS were working on a new album Manimals. Well now, they have posted a free download of their brand new full-length Manimals,  Check it out here. The album was just  released today on Kiss of Death Records.

The band recently changed their name from the old moniker VIRGINS to VRGNS, and added a member to the group. Alex Goldfarb is the new bassist for VRGNS, hailing from New Mexican Disaster Squad (along with Johnson) and also plays in No Friends. Goldfarb is also a member of Gatorface.

Virgins’ last album, Miscarriage, came out in 2008.



New Song: “International Incident” by Virgins off upcoming album, “Manimals”

Orlando punk trio Virgins are anticipating the release of their second full-length album, and have leaked a new track off the album as a little teaser for fans. International Incident will appear on the new album, Manimals, which is set to be released August 31 on Kiss of Death Records. You can check out the track on ReaxMusic here.

Guitarist/vocalist Sam Johnson has this to say about the upcoming album,

This is my favorite shit I’ve done and it seriously rocks. I feel like it’s got a lot of old punk influences like Dead Boys, Adolescents, The Damned, and Circle Jerks, but rocks like my current faves like Nirvana, Hot Snakes and some poppy shit too, like The Dickies or some badass shit like The Dwarves.

Virgins post new song, reveal artwork, tracklist and release date for upcoming album “Manimals”

Central Florida punk band Virgins have have revealed the artwork <= for their upcoming album Manimals. They have also posted a song from the album called No Longer Entertainment on their MySpace.

The album will be released on August 31st on Kiss of Death Records and  is a follow-up to 2008’s Miscarriage.

Virgins heading to recording studio!

Florida punks Virgins have just announced that they will be heading to the studio next month to begin working on their second album, Animals (tentative title). In a recent press release it was stated that,

Orlando’s VIRGINS will be entering the studio on February 11th to start work on their second LP, the follow-up to 2008’s Miscarriage, released by Kiss of Death Records. The sophomore album is tentatively titled Animals and will find the band once again headed to Louisville, KY to record at Headbanging Kill Your Mama Music with Lords’ Chris Owens. Virgins have already sealed a blood pact with Tampa’s Kiss of Death Records to release the album, as well as a teaser 7” in the months prior to the album’s release. Afterwards, they’re also planning a split 7” with NY’s Stolen Parts on No Idea Records.

Virgins will make appearances at Harvest of Hope Fest 2010, from March 12-14th, and at Rad Fest in Wilmington, NC, May 14th-15th. Plans are currently in the works for runs up the East and West Coast, as well as a European tour, later in 2010.
