I feel like I say this every year, but 2018 was a great year for music. I went to some great shows; everything from small intimate house shows to big spectacles and festivals. I personally played my first show in over a decade, so that was cool. But you all don’t care about all that, you just want to see if any of your favorite albums of the year are also on my list. Let’s compare notes below!

Lemuria recently held a contest where they encouraged their fans to make music videos for any song off their new album, Recreational Hate, with the winner to be released as an official music video.
The winner is Erik Button of Charlotte, North Carolina, and you can check out his video for “Christine Perfect” below.
Recreational Hate was released digitally in late 2017. Physical copies were released on February 2nd.

Lemuria are to release new album “Recreational Hate” on February 2nd. Following a secretive pre-order campaign earlier this year, the band are rewarding backers with early copies of the record; everyone else will have to make do with advance track “Wanted To Be Yours” ahead of pre-order details being released.

Lemuria have announced Asian Man Records will be reissuing their debut album Get Better in honor of its 10th anniversary. The LP comes with a bonus 7″ featuring two previously unreleased tracks from the album’s recording sessions.
In addition to this reissue, Lemuria’s also announced a Get Better 10th anniversary tour with Mikey Erg. The 2017 tour will see the band playing the album in its entirety in cities across the US from mid-January through early March. Tour dates can be found below.

Montreal’s Pouzza Fest has announced their second round of bands for this year’s edition of the festival. Additions include Less Than Jake, Brendan Kelly, Lemuria and Such Gold. You can check the updated poster above.

Buffalo, New York’s Lemuria will be embarking on a tour of the eastern US (with one date in Ontario) with Prince (the band from Texas, not the pop icon) this December. Dates and locations can be found below.
Lemuria’s latest full-length The Distance Is So Big was released in 2013 via Bridge Nine Records. Prince’s self-titled album came out in July through Dead Broke Rekerds, Drunken Sailor Recordsr, A.D.D. Records, and No Breaks Records.

Buffalo’s Lemuria has been keeping busy since the release of their newest album, The Distance is So Big. In addition to touring with The Menzingers, the band has just released a video for “Brilliant Dancer,” which you can check out below.
The track is off of the aforementioned album, and follows up the video for “Oahu, Hawaii,” which was released earlier this year.
The group’s latest release was their 2013 EP Brilliant Dancer, which was launched via Bridge Nine Records.
