Chicago punk act All Eyes West and UK punks Above Them recently released a 7-inch split via Jump Start Records. The release features 1 new song from each act and you can stream them right here.

All Eyes West released their self-titled debut full-length last summer, also via Jump Start. Stream it here for free. Above Them released a full-length entitled “Are We A Danger To Ourselves?” last month on Specialist Subject Records.



About The Mess recording new music

Chicago punk act, About The Mess, have announced that they are recording new music. Here’s what they had to say:

“We finished tracking for two of the new three tunes last night. Going to try and finish tracking the third tonight, then mix, and a quick master so you guys can hear them before the upcoming shows!”

“Anthem Of Imperfection” their debut EP,  was released on July 6th via Whoa! Records.

The band recently announced a 7-inch split with Detroit’s Break Anchor, in addition to splits with Above Them to be released this summer.



All Eyes West/Above Them announce seven-inch split

Chicago punk act All Eyes West (pictured left) and UK punks Above Them have announced a split 7-inch to be released this June via Jump Start Records. The split is set for release just in time for AAW’s UK tour, which is also set for June. No dates have been announced yet, but stay tuned.

Oli Wood (Above Them) covers “Aside” by The Weakerthans for new digital singles series

UK label Cats? Aye! Records have released the first track from their covers series, ‘PV Undercover’. First up is Oli Wood of Above Them with his take on ‘Aside’ by The Weakerthans.  Giver ‘er a listen and download it for free here.

New record label Cats? Aye! Records offers free sampler (Bangers, Great Cynics, Above Them)

Good news for everyone, free music is free wherever you are. A small group of friends across England have joined forces and formed a record label, and to celebrate that have compiled a compilation to showcase the music that has inspired and interested them.

Cats? Aye! Records have managed to secure a whole load of excellent British bands and artists for the sampler, including Bangers, Great Cynics and Above Them, and a couple of international acts including The Smith Street Band.

The first release has been announced as a split 7” with Leagues Apart and Dinner Time. To keep up to date with that and to support people that care make your way to the Facebook page and have a click on ‘Like’. After you’ve done that (or before) go to the bandcamp page and download the sampler for no money at all. It’s all free, and you get 22 excellent songs by excellent popular and under-appreciated punk acts.



Above Them give away “Step Back, Release” from impending “Are We a Danger to Ourselves?”

UK punk act Above Them have premiered a stream and download  of their tune “Step Back, Release” which will appear on the band’s new album, “Are We a Danger to Ourselves?”, which will hit record stores on February 27th. They’ve also announced a competition through which you can win the album and some other band merch! Check out the song and the competition here.
