Last Call stream new album, “Dog Years”, and give track-by-track commentary

Las Vegas, NV punk rock band Last Call have released their long-awaited new LP, “Dog Years”, today through their own imprint Broken Arrow Collective. The album marks the first official release from the Broken Arrow Collective, an organization of sorts including members of Last Call and friends who aim to promote equality and spread awareness by way of music. “Dog Years” will also be available on cassette from the band’s friends at Immunity Tape Co.

Here’s what drummer Adam Blasco had to say about the new work,

This record is about everything that we’ve been dealing with over the last couple of years, both individually and as a band. We’ve always written songs for ourselves, but this record is the one that we want to reach as many people as possible. It’s definitely the most emotionally involved record that we’ve put out, and we’re singing about things that have never found a way out of us until now. It’s an amazing feeling. If one person finds a message in these songs that touches them emotionally, we’ve accomplished our goals. The Broken Arrow Collective is something that has been on my mind for about the last year or so. This record means a fucking lot to me and the rest of these dudes involved, so this is the perfect time to make this idea a real tangible thing. We’re very proud of everything we’ve created, and couldn’t be more psyched to finally share it with everyone.

The band has made the entire album available to stream here, along with an exclusive track-by-track commentary from members.

Last Call has also announced plans for a hometown record release show on Jan. 5th at the Knight Hall in Las Vegas. Supporting acts include Caravels, Heart to Heart, Stickup Kid, The Letter You, Alaska and Dreamcatchers.

Last Call’s trailer gets stolen, launch Kickstarter fund to get it back

Well this sucks. Las Vegas punkers Last Call recently finished up their band practice and found that their trailer was stolen. And since trailers are expensive, the band has launched a Kickstarter fund to get it back. Here’s what the band had to say:

On the night of Feb. 6, 2012, we wrapped up practice, and we discovered that our trailer had been stolen. All that was left were the shredded scraps of steel that were once the 3 locks on the doors & hitch. I’m sure that you have all heard stories like this from bands that you love. We were one of the lucky bands that didn’t lost much more than an empty trailer. Regardless, being a victim of theft of any kind fucking sucks.

We have never been a band that is comfortable with asking for help, so it makes it kind of hard to type what’s coming next… To help us pay for both the trailer that we no longer have, and to help soften the blow of purchasing a new one, we have set up this ‘Kickstarter’ campaign in addition to our regular Online Store. We are offering some awesome, super-limited, and in some cases, otherwise unattainable, things as our way of saying “Thank You” to anyone and everyone who helps us out.

You can read the full statement as well as donate to the band’s Kickstarter fund here. The band is currently working on a new album.
