Southern California punk veterans Down By Law were recently asked on Facebook if they have been working on the follow-up to 2012’s Champions at Heart (the band’s first studio album in 9 years) yet. The band did not reveal any information about a new album, but stated, “We hope to have an announcement of some new recordings, soon.”
We’ll keep you posted as more details on a new Down By Law album come to light. The band last released an EP Revolution Time in 2014, followed a year later by the split EP with End of Pipe Equators.

“Bottom line for me is being a punk rock rebel whose mission is to encourage independence and exuberance in life. For me, it’s all about music and creativity and that feeling of elation and sorrow and beauty that only music can bring. For the future I want to create music for our fans and for ourselves that continues to help define who we all are, how we are all connected, and encourage no one to give up. Burn bright and stay free.”
Down By Law last released the Revolution Time EP, which was released last December. Their latest full-length, Champions at Heart, was released in August 2012.

Down By Law have officially revealed the cover art for their upcoming 7-song EP, which is currently being mixed and is expected to be released sometime this December. Here’s a little description of the record, taken from the band’s Facebook page:
“This group of songs will please DBL fans that dig our more melodic, Jam/SLF inspired side. Also, it always seems that every release has at least one song that has ‘Dag’ in the working title. This one is no exception.”
We’ll keep you posted as more details on this EP come to light. Down By Law’s latest release “Champions At Heart,” their first album in 9 years, came out last August via DC Jam Records.
