Bird Attack Records signs Hit the Switch (punk/thrash) for release of new album “Entropic”

Florida-based skate-punk label Bird Attack Records has announced the signing of So-Cal punk/thrash band Hit the Switch. They will be releasing their first album with Bird Attack, titled Entropic on September 25.

Originally formed in 2003, Hit the Switch has released 2 full-length albums and some singles, including a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine” and the 2011 “Retroactive.”



Hit The Switch recording new album

According to a recent post on their Facebook page, California punks Hit The Switch are currently recording a new album. Here’s what the band had to say:

“Ok, so it’s been like 6 years since our last record, and apparently there is still a small handful of people who still give a shit about our band, and it is to those we say, thank you for hanging in there :) we enter the studio today to record our new album…Shit’s about to get real!!!”

Hit The Switch released their latest full-length Observing Infinities in 2009. They’ve told us they were recording a new album a few times since then… hopefully this time it’s for real.



Hit The Switch release “Retroactive” single

Punk rockers, Hit The Switch, have released their song “Retroactive” as a single, now available on I-tunes. The song has previously only been available at their European/UK shows and is now, finally, available for everyone, everywhere to download.

Up-and-coming Florida punk/ska label, Pinhead Records, have released the 5th installment in their series of free compilations, called “International Punk Rock Superstars.”

Free Punk Rock Bowling pre-party benefit show announced (Hit The Switch, Sic Waiting, Holding Onto Sound)

A Punk Rock Bowling pre-party will be held at Yayo Taco next Friday benefiting the Nevada Homeless Alliance and Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. It’s free to get in and T-shirts are being sold with 100% of their profits being donated.

Hit the Switch, Sic Waiting, Nothing With Numbers, Burning Agrestic, and Holding Onto Sound will be performing. Doors at 8.

Punk Rock Bowling is a 3 day outdoor festival in Las Vegas starting in the late afternoon and featuring 8 great bands each day on Saturday, Sunday and Monday celebrated with 5,000 of your close personal punk rock friends. And if that’s not enough, their will be 4 late night club shows each night in smaller more intimate surroundings featuring more great bands as well as some special surprises. All in all, over 60 bands will perform throughout the weekend.

Disconnect Disconnect Records releasing compilation of unreleased songs

UK based punk label Disconnect Disconnect Records will be releasing a compilation called “Removals” that will feature unreleased new tracks, demo versions, alternate versions and covers from 21 great punk acts from around the world.  You can check out the contributing bands, track listing and cover art right here.

‘Removals’ will be released in late January / early February on CD and digitally.
