There is no argument that punk’s roots come from rebellion and revolution. It started as a movement to bring about change and spark activism. Long-standing political punks Anti-Flag, have a strong voice in this, and throughout their discography cover ground that ignites controversy and begs civilians to speak out against authority.

As the group gears up for the release of their 10th studio album, American Spring, we were able to chat with bassist Chris Dos about the meaning behind the album title, how to become an active member of your community, and his other project White Wives.

The group is touring in support of their recent album I’ll Be the Tornado, which was released on October 7, 2014 via  6131 Records.

White Wives announce Pittsburgh show

Indie/punk group White Wives have just announced an upcoming Pittsburgh date (their first show in over a year.) The show will be a very belated record release show celebrating their last self-titled EP, which was released last year and will take place at The Shop on December 18th. A-F Records signs Chris Stowe (White Wives)

A-F Records has recently signed White Wives bassist Chris Stowe’s solo acoustic folk-punk act.

You can check out the video for his song “I Only Miss Her When I’m Drinking,” which is set to appear on his debut full-length Hollow, below.

Hollow is slated for a June release.

White Wives announce plans to release new single “Cardinal Bird” and live EP

White Wives (featuring Chris #2 of Anti-Flag) have announced they will be digitally releasing a brand new single, entitled “Cardinal Birds,” along with a live EP on August 5th.

White Wives (featuring Chris #2 of Anti-Flag) are offering a free download of their song “Until We Find Our Way (I’ll Stay)”.  The song is a b-side from the band’s latest album “Happeners” released in June, 2011 on Adeline Records and features guest vocals from Lemuria’s Max Gregor.
