Travis Barker releases autobiography “Can I Say”

Just can’t get enough Travis Barker? Who can! We’re all in luck cuz the 40 year old drummer of Blink 182 fame has just published an autobiography. You can pick it up for a measly 50 bucks right here and check out the fancy press blurb below:

Travis Barker’s soul-baring memoir chronicles the highlights and lowlights of the renowned drummer’s art and his life, including the harrowing plane crash that nearly killed him and his traumatic road to recovery—a fascinating never-before-told-in-full story of personal reinvention grounded in musical salvation and fatherhood.

After breaking out as the acclaimed drummer of the multiplatinum punk band Blink-182, everything changed for Travis Barker. But the dark side of rock stardom took its toll: his marriage, chronicled for an MTV reality show, fell apart. Constant touring concealed a serious drug addiction. A reckoning did not truly come until he was forced to face mortality: His life nearly ended in a horrifying plane crash, and then his close friend, collaborator, and fellow crash survivor DJ AM died of an overdose.

In this blunt, driving memoir, Barker ruminates on rock stardom, fatherhood, death, loss, and redemption, sharing stories shaped by decades’ worth of hard-earned insights. His pulsating memoir is as energetic as his acclaimed beats. It brings to a close the first chapters of a well-lived life, inspiring readers to follow the rhythms of their own hearts and find meaning in their lives.

Blink-182 last released the EP Dogs Eating Dogs in December 2012, and have reportedly been back in the studio recording their long-awaited new album for a 2015 release. The Transplants’ latest album In a War Zone was released last year.

Krewella, Travis Barker, and Patrick Stump collaborate for song

Travis Barker, the drummer for blink-182 and Transplants will be collaborating alongside Patrick Stump, the guitarist and vocalist for Fall Out Boy for an upcoming song being released by electronic dance group Krewella. The song is being going to be a single off Krewella’s upcoming album titled “Dancing With The Devil”. In a recent interview with Las Vegas Weekly, Krewella vocalist Yasmine stated:

We have this song on the album —I’m not really supposed to talk about this, but whatever—that’s a collaboration with Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy and Travis Barker from Blink-182. It’s the three of us together on one song, and it’s like the culmination of my adolescent years, the coolest thing that’s every happened to me. When we were in the studio with Patrick Stump writing this song, it was one of those moments when I realized there’s no other type of music I’d rather be making. … I don’t even know how to place us anymore. But that’s I guess a good thing.

Travis Barker (of Blink 182) and Soundwave Founder AJ Maddah traded insults over Twitter last night in the latest developments in the fallout after Barker dropped out of the Soundwave festival.

Criticism has been pouring on Barker for the past week, leading him to respond that it was his fear of flying after a 2008 plane crash that is keeping him from the festival, adding “If they would’ve scheduled Australia around a boat schedule I would’ve made it. They didn’t though. They also didn’t schedule enough time to get from gig to gig without flying so I was forced not to go.”
