RMS Olympic recording new album

Looks like California one-man folk/punk act RMS Olympic will be recording a new album soon.  He posted the following on his facebook:

Dusting off some old songs for this new record. Maybe even a couple old Martyrs songs. Getting more and more pumped to record in a couple weeks.”

The Martyrs was the punk band Nathanael Felon, who now makes up RMS Olympic, used to front. RMS Olympic,  last released a self-titled, free EP which you can download via bandcamp.  There is also a brand new RMS Olympic song on the “Too Punk To Folk” comp which you can download for free here.



RMS Olympic streams “Nearer, My God To Thee” in memory of the RMS Titanic

Yesterday marked the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and folk/punk act RMS Olympic is offering a free download/stream of his cover of “Nearer, My God To Thee” as tribute to the famous wreck.  He writes

According to many witnesses, “Nearer, My God, To Thee” was the last song played by the band as the RMS Titanic slowly disappeared into the Atlantic. On the 100-year anniversary of this famous tragedy, I’d like to pay tribute to my namesake’s sister ship with my version of this tragic, yet hopeful hymn. Please download it for free and remember the first and last voyage of the Ship of Dreams.
