Lit announce UK tour dates in May

Well known California pop punk band Lit has announced a string of UK tour dates in May. The tour is in honor of the 15th anniversary of their popular album “A Place In The Sun”, which they will be playing in full at each show. Recently, we introduced you to the new song by California rockers Lit.  Well now, you can check out the lyrics to “Same Shit, Different Drink” by checking out the video here.

Here’s what Lit lead singer A. Jay Popoff says about the new track:

[It’s] sort of like part two of “My Own Worst Enemy.” It’s a drinking song and it’s signature Lit.

The song is off Lit’s newest album, “The View From The Bottom”.  It’ll be released by Megaforce Records on June 19th .  And this’ll be the guys first album in 8 YEARS, since they decided to take a hiatus.



Lit streams new song “Same Shit, Different Drink”

Fullerton pop-punk / rock act, Lit, are streaming a brand new song titled “Same Shit, Different Drink”. The band states that they “wanted a drinking song that would be a cool party anthem”.

The song will be featured on Lit’s upcoming album, “The View from the Bottom”, which is being produced by Butch Walker and will be their first release since their 2004 self-titled album.

Lit announce more touring

Earlier today, we reported that Lit would be releasing their long-awaited new album The View from the Bottom on June 19th. Well, the band just announced that they will be doing a tour to promote their new album this summer with ’90s bands such as Everclear, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms and Marcy Playground. Lit actually have plans to do a U.S. tour before the release of The View from the Bottom, which will be their first studio album since 2004’s self-titled album. You can find all the dates here.

Fullerton pop-punk / rock act, Lit, have announced that they will release their upcoming album,”The View From The Bottom,” on June 19th.

The band released their latest self-titled album in 2004 on Nitrus Records/DRT Entertainment.



Lit begin recording new album with Butch Vig

Apparently after a lot of speculation and many false starts, Lit (yeah, the same band that’s remembered for 1999 hit “My Own Worst Enemy“) announced on their Facebook page yesterday they are finally back in the studio recording their new album with producer Butch Vig (who has produced hit albums by well-known artists like Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, HelmetAFI, Jimmy Eat WorldGreen Day and his own band Garbage).

No further more details regarding the new record have been announced, but stay tuned for updates. It will likely be released sometime from early to mid 2012.

Lit’s last album, which is self-titled, was released back in June 2004. Last July, they posted a video of a demo song entitled “You Tonight” and you can check it out here.
