Boston hardcore legends, DYS, are streaming a re-recorded, re-arranged version of their classic song “Brotherhood” in honor and celebration for the world premiere of the Boston Hardcore documentary “xxx All Ages xxx” which will debut in the band’s original hometown on 4/27/2012 as part of the Boston Independent Film Festival. DYS performs, and are interviewed, in the movie.
Bass player Jonathan Anastas said, “DYS would have never re-formed without the passion and involvement of the ‘All Ages’ team of Duane Lucia, Drew Stone and Katie Goldman, nor would we have been able to do it the first time around either.” Continued Jonathan, “From offering one of the best original venues to play live to helping us get the “Brotherhood” record pressed to asking us to headline their Gallery East Reunion show in 2010, there would be no DYS as you know it without this team. Thus, giving back to our scene, our city and their movie was a natural.”

As a gift to those of us who may not have the extra billion dollars to purchase increasingly-expensive tickets to awesome festivals like SXSW (Texas), a number of bands (including Hot Water Music, Anti-Flag, DYS, and Comeback Kid) will be playing a free all-day, two-stage showcase at the festival on March 16th.
The showcase is being sponsored by the Washington D.C. charity Shirts For A Cure, and donations are encouraged. The charity was founded in 2002 by punk gig photographer Mark Beemer to help raise money for breast cancer treatment, and has had a long history of support from punk rock bands and fans.
