Members of Gaslight Anthem and Let Me Run form melodic hardcore band Bottomfeeder, releasing debut album

Melodic hardcore act Bottomfeeder is formed by members of The Gaslight Anthem (Benny Horowitz, drums), Let Me Run (Corey Perez, guitar) Gates (Dan King, guitar, Mike Maroney, bass) and Derek Reilly on vocals (formerly of Red Light Green Light and currently of Jaguar Shark).  The group has recently announced that they will be releasing their debut, four song 10” release on Human Blood Records this week. The limited release of 500 (including 400 in color splatter and and a special limited color for 100 that is top secret) will only be available through Human Blood’s bigcartel site or at the band’s upcoming shows.

The first song off the release “You Son Of A Bitch” is streaming on the band’s facebook page and contains Reilly’s full-frontal vocal attack with a song about “struggling with friends who have become slaves to hard drugs and losing people to substances.” Reilly stresses “This project defines for me what the hardcore scene and DIY is about. It’s a real community thing of friends helping each other out. The band is friends from the scene, we recorded at our friends studio (Treehouse Studios), Human Blood is a label started by Alex (Rosamilia, of The Gaslight Anthem) and I that is putting out the record and friends are letting us jump on their shows. That’s what punk and hardcore is to me.”

Bottomfeeder will be playing a record release show this Friday, December 16th at Maxwell’s in Hoboken with Gameday Regulars, Sydbarret and Gypsy Wig and then Thurs, December 22nd at The Court Tavern in New Brunswick with Vision, The Fire Still Burns and The Last Stand.
