After a 30 minute stint listening to some soul crushing hardcore I seriously needed a lift in spirits. Thankfully Massachusetts ska act The Pomps were next up in the editorial inbox with an announcement of their new single titled “P.A.D.D.” It’s poppy, it’s catchy, it’s got jammy organs that will have you vigorously nodding your head if not actually skanking around your living room, and you can do so by streaming it below.

This single marks the band’s first release since 2017’s Alternate America EP.

The Pomps cover “She Bangs The Drums” by The Stone Roses

Massachusetts ska band The Pomps have immortalized their favourite cover with a recording of The Stone Roses’  1989 hit “She Bangs The Drums.” The group often plays this song as part of their live set and do it all of the justice with the rolling bass line and island vibes.  You can give it a listen below.

Pop influenced ska outfit The Pomps have released a new EP entitled “Indie Rock is Dying”. It features six tracks of laid back catchy ska sounds and will certainly excite fans of bands like The Slackers. You can check out the whole thing for free below but as always the band would appreciate the cash if you are enjoying it.

The Pomps announce new EP, stream new song, and announce tour dates

Boston’s ska-revivalist group The Pomps, (featuring members of Have Nots, Void Union, and more) have announced that they will be releasing a new EP, titled Indie Rock is Dying, via Rare Breed Recording company in early 2016.

To give you a taste of what to expect, the band is streaming a new song off the EP called “All My Guns.”  You can check that out along with the bands upcoming tour dates below.

The Pomps post two new songs from upcoming EP

Boston’s ska-revivalist group The Pomps (featuring members of Have Nots, Void Union, and more) have posted two brand new songs from their upcoming EP, “Pomps Save the Queen”.

The Pomps stream debut album “Top Of The Pomps”, announce tour with The Slackers

The Pomps, a “ska-revival/power-pop” act featuring members of Have Nots, Void Union and The Sterns, have posted a stream of their debut album “Top of the Pomps” right here. The album features appearances by King Django, members of Westbound Train, a mix by Victor Rice, and was recorded by Richard Marr at Galaxy Park Studios in Allston, MA. To celebrate the release, the group has added some shows supporting the Slackers:

Saturday, March 24th: The Middle East Downstairs, Cambridge MA
Sunday, March 25th: Port City Music Hall, Portland ME

The Pomps are a relatively new, self-proclaimed ska revival/power-pop formed out of Allston, Massachusetts. Its members consist of members from Have Nots, Void Union, and The Sterns.

In addition, you can listen to two tracks -“Icepack”, and “Right My Ship” – on the band’s Bandcamp page, and you can even download them FREE. The songs are a categorized as “Sneak Peaks2k11”, so who knows…perhaps we may be seeing a full album or EP in the works.

The Pomps will be playing with The Toasters on January 13 in Cambridge, Massachusetts at TT the Bear’s Place.
