TAT working on new album

UK pop punk band TAT are working on a new album, according to an update from frontwoman Tatiana DeMaria’s Facebook page:

What do you want to hear? New album on the way, I’ve been asked for some more TAT acoustic jam videos in the mean time. Let me know what you want and I’ll try and rock it for you…

TAT last released a 2012 acoustic sessions EP by yours truly, Dying Scene Records. Get it for free here.

Free EP Download: TAT – “Dying Scene Acoustic Sessions”

Last Summer front-woman Tatiana DeMaria and bassist Nick Kent of London based pop-punk act TAT joined Dying Scene on the banks of the beautiful LA River to perform acoustic renditions of two classics from their debut full-length “Soho Lights” (“Pessimist” and “I Don’t Want To Love You”), as well as a rare oldie-but-goodie called “Happiness” (from their 2004 “Live At Reading Festival” EP). The entire session was shot and recorded by our friends at PunkVideosRock.com and today we’re stoked to offer the 3 tracks in the form of a free digital EP, “Dying Scene Acoustic Sessions vol. 3: TAT”.

Download the EP for free right here.

TAT pushes back EP release date, reveals tracklising

UK punks TAT have been forced to push the release of their fan-funded EP “Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell” by a couple days to Monday, December 5th. Vocalist/guitarist/guy magnet Tatiana DeMaria explains in a Facebook post:

“We’ve sadly had to push the release date of our new EP back 2 days until Monday. I was out of action for 2 days this week with some food poisoning and although we hoped to still wrap the EP up by today, it turns out we’ll need those 2 days. So sorry for those of you waiting, but it’ll all be up and ready to rock to on Monday. Thanks for your patience – Tatiana”

However, the band did release the tracklisting for the EP a bit later, which you can find right here. The album was, again, funded by fan pledges and is being self-released.

DS Acoustic Session: TAT unplugged! (including 2 brand new songs)

It’s been many months since we brought you a new Dying Scene Acoustic Session but I can’t think of a better band to break the slump.  We recently coerced London based pop-punk act TAT into joining us on the banks of the beautiful LA River in downtown Studio City where front-woman Tatiana DeMaria and bassist Nick Kent performed acoustic renditions of two brand new songs (“Take Everything” and “What It Is About You”), two older classics (“Pessimist” and “I Don’t Want To Love You” from debut album “Soho Lights”), and a rare oldie-but-goodie called “Happiness” (from their 2004 “Live At Reading Festival” EP).

Check out the vids in all their acoustic glory right here.

Live Video: TAT perform new song “Never Enough” from upcoming EP

Female fronted London pop-punk act TAT recently performed a new song called “Never Enough” at a show in London and you can check it out here.  The tune will appear on the band’s upcoming EP “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell” which will feature 5 unreleased TAT songs straight from the “Vault.”

To make this release happen the band has decided to release the album through Pledge Music with help of fan donations. A portion of the donations will go to the “Make A Wish” foundation.

Random Cover Song: Reel Big Fish covers Poison’s “Talk Dirty To Me” with Tatiana DeMaria (TAT)

Cover songs are like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get.  We here at Dying Scene love hearing punk bands do their own take on other band’s songs.  Sometimes they pull off amazing interpretations of old classics, sometimes they’re not much more than humble tributes to a fellow artist, and other times they’re just downright laughable renditions of otherwise great songs.  Good or bad.  Intriguing or mundane.  We’ll let you be the judge.

Both the ska genre as a whole and OC band Reel Big Fish have no shortage of 80’s cover songs. At one cover  every week, it would probably take us a full year to show you all of them. But the band’s cover of Poison’s “Talk Dirty To Me” stands out among the rest, mainly because it features Tatiana DeMaria (TAT), the hottest chick in metal, singing and talking dirty in the background.

The song was originally released on Poison’s 1986 album “Look What The Cat Dragged In,” and the Reel Big Fish version appeared on their 2009 cover album “Fame, Fortune, and Fornication.” Interesting side note: Frontman Aaron Barrett intended for that album to be an all-Poison cover album (as the album cover might suggest), but the rest of the band told him no (a good call, if you ask me).

Check out both versions here.

Video: Watch Tatiana DeMaria (TAT) perform Adele’s “Someone Like You”

It took a lot to get me to write this story, but here goes…

Tatiana DeMaria, frontwoman for UK pop-punk act TAT, has got herself a YouTube page. Today she posted an acoustic cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You.” If you’ve got a pulse, you’ve probably had the original burned into your eardrums a time or two this year, and if you’re like me, it made you want to jam a screwdriver into those aforementioned eardrums to make it stop.

Tatiana’s version, on the other hand, is pretty much awesome. Click here to check it out. TAT’s last release was 2008’s “Soho Lights,” though they’ve got an EP and a full-length in the works.

Tat announce new EP “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell,” perform new song “Push Up On Me”

If you watched London pop-punk act TAT‘s latest interview then you know the band will be releasing a new EP soon in addition to a new full-length. They recently announced that the EP will be titled “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell” and will feature 5 unreleased TAT songs straight from the Vault.

To make this release happen the band has decided to release the album through Pledge Music with help of fan donations. A portion of the donations will go to the “Make A Wish” foundation.

To learn more about the EP, click here. There you will also find a live video of them performing a brand new jam entitled “Push Up On Me.” The band’s latest release was 2008’s full-length “Soho Lights.”

Interview: TAT talks new EP, new album, old albums and everything in between

If you’re a TAT fan, this interview is a must watch.  If you’re not a TAT fan, I’m 99% sure its because you haven’t yet listened to their music so go do it now and the rest of us will wait…

man, it’s hot today… I wonder if there are any more otter pops in the freezer

Oh, you’re back?  Told you they were good!  OK, now that we’re all on the same page let’s get to this interview, which has a motherload of TAT info.  The band talks about the long awaited upcoming full-length follow-up to 2009’s “Soho Lights”, a new EP in the interim, what it was like to record songs for the “Blue Crush 2” soundtrack and how that came about, calling Kevin Lyman a “cunt” to his face, old albums, writing process, and a whole lot more.  It’s equally hilarious and informative and you can check it out here (grab some pop-corn its a bit long).

New Music: TAT streams 2 more songs from upcoming “Blue Crush 2” soundtrack

London pop-punk act TAT have posted two more songs which will appear on the upcoming, sure-to-be-a-huge-hit sequel to surfer chick flick “Blue Crush.”  One is an original called “Heaven on Earth” and the other is an Allman Brothers’ cover of “Soulshine.”

You can check them out right here.

The band is currently working on a new album.

New Music: TAT – “Jump”

In the middle of recording TAT‘s new record, frontwoman Tatiana DeMaria was asked to write a few songs to score scenes in a sequel to Universal’s cult film “Blue Crush.” The band recorded these new songs and will be releasing them on their youtube channel over the next three days. Click here to check out the first track, titled “Jump.”

These tracks aren’t slated to appear on TAT’s new album, which we’ll give you details for as they come.
