We know you’ve been waiting patiently, boys and girls, but the wait is finally over!
Dying Scene was lucky enough to have boots on the ground at the Chicago installment of this year’s Riot Fest. We covered as much ground as we could, and chronicled some pretty intense performances throughout the course of the epic three-day festival. Today, we bring you coverage of day one, which included NOFX, The Specials, Refused, Off With Their Heads, and Dillinger Escape Plan. Check out our full gallery below, and stay tuned for coverage of days two and three in the very near future!
“Servants of Death” is taken from Refused’s latest album Freedom, which was released a year ago on Epitaph Records, and was the band’s first album in over 15 years.

A new video has just been released by Swedish hardcore group Refused, showing the four-person band playing a live rendition of their song “War On Places”. Much like their video for “Elektra“, this one shows them rocking out in the packed showroom of Vintage Vinyl, while the audience tries to enjoy the music while still respecting the aisles of records along the walls. Check it out below.
Both “War On Places” and “Elektra” come from their latest album, “Freedom”, which was released on June 30th via Epitaph Records. This marks their first release since “The Shape Of Punk To Come”, back in 1998.
