Textbook releasing new EP “Only When I’m Breathing” on Torture Chamber Records

Chicago pop-punks Textbook have announced a new EP titled Only When I’m Breathing. It will be released on September 27th through Dan Vapid’s Torture Chamber Records.

Textbook last released a compilation of b-sides titled On the B-Side in March through Paper + Plastick Records. Their latest studio album was 2014’s All Messed Up.



Textbook releases new album, “On the B Side”

Chicago pop-punks Textbook have released a new album called On the B Side (Best of 2000-2015 today, and you can stream it here.

As the name suggests, the album is a collection of b-sides, and Textbook’s Rick Uncapher comments: “Some of these songs date back to the beginning, and others are more recent, but this collection is a great introduction to the band. We’ve been doing it a long time and we’re thrilled that Paper + Plastick is breathing new life into the songs.”

Paper + Plastick is releasing this album as part of their new series, The Sound of the Skull.  The label will combine digital releases, limited edition resin skulls, and USB drives.  You can get your hands on all the goodies here.

Hey oh, pop-punk fans! Who wants to see a brand new music video from “Textbook”? Good answer. Check out the premiere of “Just One Of Those Things” below!

For the past 15 years, the Chicago band has been crafting their own brand of Midwestern pop-punk inspired by bands like The Replacements, Hüsker Dü, Superchunk, The Lemonheads, Guided By Voices and many more. To celebrate the band’s 15th year, comes the record “On The B-Side (Best of 2000 –2015)”. This collection of songs spans the entire Textbook catalog and features 16 re-mastered tracks including guest spots by Chicago punk legends Jeff Pezzati (Naked Raygun) and Dan Vapid (Methadones, Screeching Weasel, Riverdales), an unreleased acoustic version of the song “Dear You, Dear”, and a cover song by the UK band Chillerton.

On The B-Side (Best of 2000-2015), is due out March 4th on USB key with a limited skull, as part of Paper + Plastick‘s “Sound of the Skull” series. The bundle will be available right here once it’s released.



Textbook streaming new track – “Outside”

Chicago pop-punk group Textbook are now streaming a new track off their upcoming release, to celebrate 15 years as a band. Listen to “Outside” below.

The track comes from On The B-Side (Best of 2000-2015), which is due out March 4th on USB key with a limited skull, as part of Paper + Plastick‘s “Sound of the Skull” series (that’s a weird sentence, right?). The bundle will be available right here once it’s released.



Textbook to release “On The B-Side (2000 – 2015)” through Paper and Plastick

To celebrate their 15th year as a band, Chicago pop-punks Textbook have unveiled “On The B-Side (Best of 2000 – 2015)”. This collection of songs spans the entire Textbook catalog and features production by Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, Lawrence Arms), John Agnello (Dinosour Jr., Motion City Soundtrack), and Mike Haigler (Wilco, Neko Case).

These 16 songs are re-mastered, feature guest spots by Chicago punk heros Jeff Pezzati (Naked Raygun) and Dan Vapid (Methadones, Screeching Weasel, Riverdales), and includes an unreleased acoustic version of the song “Dear You, Dear” and a cover song by the UK band Chillerton.

The record is part of Paper and Plasticks “Sound of The Skull” series and will be available digitally on a USB and crucially accompanied by a limited edition resin skull. The record will also be available on all digital outlets on March 4th.
