Europe’s environmentally-conscious punk rock festival, Brakrock Ecofest, has added a load of new names to its lineup for the 2019 edition.
Joining the likes of Propagandhi, The Dopamines, and PEARS will be legendary Californian mainstays, Descendents, Gainesville’s finest, Less Than Jake, and it will also be the return of much-loved speed merchants, Cigar.
Also performing will be The Bennies, , Toy Dolls, Pour Habit, Much The Same, Hit The Switch, Straightline, and For I Am. More names are expected to be announced early next year.
Brakrock Ecofest takes place in the town of Duffel, Belgium, over the weekend of August 2nd, 2019. All the information you need about the event can be found here.

Legendary skate punk three piece Cigar appear to be making good on their earlier promise of new tunes. The band recently posted a video to their Instagram account of them jamming through some previously unheard material.
Cigar went their separate ways in 2006 leaving fans desperate for more. Their only recorded full-length to date is the 1999 release Speed is Relative – an album that has since become essential listening for the skate punk scene.
You can check out the teaser video of Cigar’s new music over at their Instagram page. We can’t bloody wait for the whole album!
We’ll keep you posted as more details on new music from Cigar come to light. For now, here‘s their fantastic 1999 debut LP to tide you over.

As astute readers are no doubt aware, 90s American skate punk band Cigar reunited for the first time in 8 years late last year at the Music 4 Cancer festival in Canada. Slowly but surely, good quality video of the performance has been trickling out.

Cigar’s only full-length album “Speed is Relative” was released in 1999 on Theologian Records. “Movies and TV” isn’t on it.
