William Control announces new Aiden material (sans Victory Records) in epic open letter to former bandmates

After a period of relative silence, William “Control” Francis and the Aiden camp seem to have awoken from their several-year-old slumber.

In a rather epic (like, damn near 2500 words) missive directed at former band members Jake Davidson, Jake Wambold, Angel Ibarra and Nicholas Wiggins, the frontman announced plans for a new album, which will represent an official end of the Aiden project. Francis expresses a fair amount of regret at how the previous end of the Aiden project left a bad taste in people’s mouths: “I feel as if the last cycle for Some Kind of Hate ended so abruptly we never got to go out and say goodbye. It was a rough time for everyone involved and it feels unresolved.”

There’s an awful lot to sift through in the letter, some of it more interesting than others. Francis spends the bulk of the letter offering apologies to his former bandmates, in addition to well-wishes for their future endeavors. There’s also mention of a lawsuit brought by Wambold toward the rest of the band, as well as a merchandise fiasco apparently involving Wiggins. Anyway, Francis also makes it clear that not only will the new album not involve Victory Records, but that he’ll be the only original member of Aiden on the upcoming album (which is tentatively, according to Facebook,”slotted for an October 30th, 2015 release), but that he does hope the former members will get to hear the album when it comes out. You can read the whole statement below.

The aforementioned “Some Kind Of Hate,” the band’s last album, was released in 2011 via Victory Records.

Aiden begin writing next (possibly final) album

Aiden last released Some Kind of Hate, their sixth studio album, in 2011 via Victory Records.

William Control (Aiden) announces acoustic album

William Control, front man of the horror punk/emo act, Aiden, has announced that he will be releasing an acoustic album. Titled Skeleton Strings, the nine track album looks to be a collection of both new songs, and acoustic versions of songs from Control’s previous solo efforts.

You can check the artwork over to the left, and the tracklist right here.

Video: William Francis of Aiden sings “Lori Meyers” with NOFX

Last week NOFX played the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ and during the performance of “Lori Meyers” they brought Will Francis of Aiden up to sing the part of Lori Meyers.  The audio is complete shit but it’s still sorta cool to see how intensely Francis got into it.

Check it out here (it’s Sunday, you got nothing else to do).

Music Video: Aiden – “Broken Bones”

Earlier in the month we covered the release for a lyric video for goth punk band Aiden‘s song “Broken Bones,” off their upcoming album “Some Kind of Hate.” Today, they released the live-action version of the video and considering the fact that the video includes clowns, a creeptastic funhouse, and a car that brings to mind the boat ride scene from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory, the date for it’s releasing is fitting. You can check it out in all of it’s weirdness here.

Aiden released their last record, “Disguises” in March on Victory Records.

Aiden releases lyric video for new song “Broken Bones” off upcoming album “Some Kind Of Hate”

Seattle goth punks Aiden have released a brand new lyric video for the track “Broken Bones” off of the forthcoming album, “Some Kind of Hate,” due out October 24th on Victory Records.

“Some Kind Of Hate” is the band’s second album to be released in 2011 after “Disguises,” was released in March.

Out of nowhere Aiden announces new album “Some Kind Of Hate”

With absolutely no hints that this was in the works, Seattle goth punks Aiden seem to have finished a brand new album titled “Some Kind Of Hate,” and plan to release it October 25th on Victory Records.

This is somewhat of a surprise considering that the band released their last album, “Disguises,” only 5 months ago.

Here’s what the press release says on Interpunk:

AIDEN strike again with a one-two punch and will unleash Some Kind Of Hate this October. After a national tour in support of Disguises, AIDEN quickly went back to work on writing another full length studio album proving that nothing can slow down the Seattle punk rock veterans. Some Kind Of Hate continues to build on AIDEN’s gritty, rebellious, and controversial brand of rock n’ roll their cult of adoring fans have come to love.

Music Video: Aiden – “A Portrait of the Artist”

Seattle goth punks Aiden have premiered the music video for “A Portrait of the Artist,” and you can check it out here.

The track comes off the band’s most recent release, “Disguises” put out on Victory Records in March.
