Michigan’s Fat Guy Fest 2015 announces additional day and full lineup

Fat Guy Fest and Shakespeare’s Lower Level have announced the second annual Fat Guy Fest, which will take place at Shakespeare’s Lower Level in Kalamazoo, Michigan August 6th-9th.

Free music: The Enders (hardcore punk) release “Hardcore Family, Vol. 1” compilation

Indiana punk rockers The Enders are celebrating their fifth anniversary as a band, and they released a punk rock compilation called Hardcore Family, Vol. 1, as a way of saying thanks.  You can download the 32-track compilation here, and stream it below.

The comp is a good mix of bands you may have heard of (The Hex Bombs, OC45, Cry Havoc!), as well as some relative newcomers.  In the words of The Enders’ frontman Benny No-Good:

This is a compilation made up of tracks by bands we consider as close as family. Some we’ve toured with, some we’ve played only a few shows with, and some are just great friends and supporters. The thing they have in common is that they are all great people making great music.

The Hex Bombs to release new full-length album “Everything Earned”

Michigan street punk group The Hex Bombs have revealed plans to release their new full length album “Everything Earned” on March 17th (St. Patricks Day).

Sexy Baby Records tease plans for “Sexy Babies Across The Wasteland – Vol. 2”

The kind folks at Sexy Baby Records have announced plans for a pretty rad compilation, set to hit the streets in the near future.

Entitled “Sexy Babies Across The Wasteland Volume 2 – Sexy Music for Sick People,” the compilation is slated to feature the likes of MxPx, The Queers, The Lucky Ones, Stat Dad, Hex Bombs, and a ton more. No official release information is available yet (aside from that sweet-ass cover art), but we’ll keep you posted.

East Grand Records releases punk compilation “Bars And Battle Scars”

East Grand Records has released a compilation album titled “Bars And Battle Scars” featuring some of the best and hardest working punk bands in the Midwest and beyond.  The album consists of 18 tracks from bands like The Hex Bombs, Hijinx, The Mizzerables and more, several of which are previously unreleased.

The Hex Bombs stream new song from upcoming 7-inch “None Shall Be Forgotten” (feat. Street Dogs’ Mike McColgan)

Michigan street punks The Hex Bombs are streaming the title track from their upcoming 7-inch entitled “None Shall Be Forgotten,” which features Street Dogs frontman Mike McColgan as its main singer.

The band will release the 7-inch on June 25th via East Grand Record Company. The last released a self-titled 7-inch in November, 2012.

Video: The Hex Bombs – “Midwest Punk”

Blank TV has posted a semi-music video of The Hex Bombs‘ song “Midwest Punk”, which shows mostly slideshows of concert flyers dating back to last year, and photographs of the band in the studio and performing live as well as photographs of the clubs they played at. Go here to watch the video.

“Midwest Punk” is taken from The Hex Bombs’ self-titled EP, which was released last November on East Grand Record Company. The band is currently working on a full-length studio album, which is set to be released this summer or fall.

The Hex Bombs (street punk) working on new material, releasing self-titled EP on 7-inch vinyl

Michigan street-punk act The Hex Bombs have just announced that their self-titled EP is now available on 7-inch vinyl through East Grand Record Company in association with Kerosene Machine Records.  For fans of bands like Street Dogs and Dropkick Murphys this is definitely a release worth checking out.  You can stream and purchase it here.

IThe Hex Bombs have another 7-inch on the way for early Summer and a full-length set to drop in late Summer or early Fall.  We’ll keep you posted as details surface.

Michigan street punk band The Hex Bombs have posted their track “Bottles and Fists” for free download to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The band released their last album, Get Back to Work, on East Grand last year, and are currently working on a 7″ to be released in May of this year.
